Apparently, I don't even have a spring in hand yet lol. I will definitely update everyone once I know what our options are in terms of spring rate, I'm going to try out a 75% weaker spring first.

Not sure the best way to go about facilitating the sale of the springs to everyone either, if I were to purchase/ship them myself I believe I would need some sort of vendor membership here which I'm not looking to do really (I think its like $100 a year). I'm certainly not looking to make any money here.

Simota did something similar with his overlays. I don't think you'll need a vendor membership for this.

Hell, I'll make a package if you guys want. It'll be $5 for USPS flatrate shipping plus spring costs.

Any luck? I didn't have a chance this week, but I might look around for a local spring supplier here next week if you have no luck.

My servo spring was fitted a bit sideways so it may have been loading the clutch M/cyl push-rod.

End result? absolute magic and very many thanks for the idea. The pedal feels just like my Brabham.

I did this to a 365 GT in 1970 and had forgotten that great success on the much bigger problem of diaphragm clutches (then a new idea) not engaging at high RPM.

Further: most folk seem to want a gas pedal giving instant response, whereas I prefer more movement for less RPM so I can feel tyre grip in th wet or on snow....a problem for me, but not for some apparently.

That problem vanished some time ago by raising the floor with stiff foam. My foot thus contacts the hinged pedal higher up: more pedal movement for less RPM.

Thanks again,

Fritz

This trick is magic, though I removed the bottom pin first and the rest fell off, leaving a small shaft hanging.

They got back to me today and let me know they are making a 75% weaker version as I initially requested, hopefully I should get it from them next week and I'll see how it compares.

So... what did you do, exactly?
