Metal skidplate?

Is there an aftermarket metal or aluminum skidplate available? Would be nice to have a sturdy one.......that also would require fewer bolts

Yeah, the 370 is a sports car. Not an SUV or pick-up truck.

Lower engine cover is also a well known name.

Beautiful! And even a sep door for oil change! Thanks!! Only reason I would like metal, is for protection on the regular highway. Alot of sh-t can come up in your path, and with the cover being so flimsy.....

You mentioned "fewer bolts" - if you mentioned that for when you do oil changes, you should only need to remove 4 bolts...

Sometimes you just can't avoid debris on the road so it seems a good idea. I suppose it depends on local conditions.

No offense, but you're doing something wrong - I've never spilled oil into the tray. If you need to, use a small bungee cord to hold the flap back while you're changing the oil.

Removing only the 4 flap bolts will save you a bunch of time (it's also how the dealer service shops do it - they don't take the entire skidplate off).

Pretty simple, really. That's why the skid plate was designed for the removal of just four bolts to do an oil change and filter.

The Porsche guys have been doing this for awhile, it looks like it would help deflect some of the impact of low driveway entrances.
