Knock from the clutch pedal

Yesterday I was out with my son and started hearing and feeling a knock from the clutch pedal when releasing it. I had planned to take it in to the dealer but today I drove it and there was no more knock. Very strange but has anyone had a similar problem?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update: Today my car came home with a new clutch pedal assembly. It seems much smoother than before and no noise. Time will tell if it will last but for now, it's fixed.

I feel different shakes, bumps, vibrations, knocks and rattles all the time with the clutch and shifter. Never really bad, but you feel it. It's not very refined, nor is it supposed to be I guess.

All normal and inherently Nissan. :tiphat:

It happened to me before, but only one time. There are a lot of different transmission noises and feelings that come through the clutch on this car. Its normal.

I don't know if this is the same thing but I notice a loud springy/knocking type sound when I'm in first and going up my driveway into the garage. The sound manifests itself when I push the clutch pedal in. The RPMs are very low as well. It doesn't sound very refined. I took it into the dealership and it didn't make the sound there of course. Not sure what it is or if I should be worried but it sounds similar to your issue.

Its normal. Usually only happens in first gear when you are crawling/decellerating and disengage the clutch. It sounds like clunk! followed by mechanical swirling. I could be wrong, but I think it has something to do with the syncros. Nothing to worry about, just press the clutch a little slower and it won't happen.

OP, yes I've felt this too. It comes and goes. Apparently it's pretty normal for this transmission.

Thanks for all the feedback. The noise I felt and heard was like a spring was hitting something. It was only when releasing the pedal. My son could hear it from the passenger seat. Hopefully it doesn't return.

my throw out bearing is an annoyance... It was fine than it became obnoxious after my first trip to the track.

Eventually maybe I'll bring it in and play dumb :eekdance:, But its normal and like someone said a common Nissan occurrence.

I bet if you complained enough they could give you a new clutch/throw out bearing but your new clutch will do the same thing eventually.

I was lucky enough today to have the problem happen while the dealer was still open. As it turns out the service manager read something today about a problem like I was having. He is going to confirm with his mechanic tomorrow but thinks the clutch pedal assembly will need to be replaced. I will keep everyone posted.

I have noticed this also... and like for others its only while releasing the clutch from the 1st....

so is this normal ? or something needs replacing? I have only had the car 4 days now!.
