no, it's not common for 370 owners to have turbos, we just barely got the turbo kits out there.

The STi family usually uses BoV, so I'm curious if it is common for 370 owners to have turbos and if so, is it common for the people to install BoV. When they do, what gains do we get? I admit I'm not smart in engines and I was misleading now that I read over my posts. I appreciate the help from people who did try to help and for the others sorry if I seem retarded

Turbo = BOV

if you put a turbo on a car, put on a BOV, thems the rules

you don't get gains from a BOV, you get to keep your motor longer

A blowoff valve is a pressure release system present in turbocharged engines. Its purpose is to prevent compressor surge, and reduce wear on the turbocharger and engine. Blow off valves (BOV) relieve the damaging effects of compressor "surge loading" by allowing the compressed air to vent to atmosphere.

:iagree:

It seems that a lot of people don't understand what the requirements or uses of particular components are used for on turbo-charged vehicles. When someone with very little knowledge of the basic mechanics of "tuned" cars, such as the OP, purchases a new car, they buy aftermarket products thats listed on someone's sig. without even knowing why or even the function of the item.

Other than that, welcome to the Z family! Make sure you read, read, and read before asking questions that have been asked a bazillion times before

Thanks guys that was all I needed , really sorry for making this thread really embarrassing/ useless ,

RCZ 06-09-2010 12:11 PM

its ok, you gotta learn somehow, but I would do research on how the different systems work.

+1 ... I was both owners. love both cars. Actually I still own one of them... guess which one.

To the OP... how do you come from an STI and not know that a BOV is directly related to a turbo? I seriously thought this was a joke. Apparently you really do have a 370! I stand corrected.

To RCZ... 1. Thank you!
2. I am big. And not in a fat way.
3. That's what oil coolers are for dumbshit
4. Even if my car did overheat, I would probably still beat the Civic.

Most Evo owners are jackasses also FYI. :p

Where you live bro?

Unforgotten 06-10-2010 01:52 AM

Huntington Beach, I always go around Harbor though, Subi / Mitsu dealers there always ripping on each other quite entertaining :]

1) You're welcome.
2) The ladies must love you...err the men must hate you.
3)Civics don't come with oil coolers and they don't overheat. If you had to do a 30 minute race stock for stock the civic would win since the Z can't finish.
4. No

Most evo owners I know, and I know lots, love their cars, but aren't jerks about it.

Oh well.

Most 370 owners, and I know lots, love their cars as well but aren't self righteous forum trolling know-it-alls with no sense of humor.

Oh well.

Entertaining indeed! You don't live too far from me. I'm in Palos Verdes. We should get together sometime. You can rip on me for not having a Nismo :bowrofl:

What some people fail to see the humor in when it comes to the Mitsu/Subi rivalry is that goes waaaay back to WRC days and it's roots. But unless you owned one (or cared) you wouldn't get it.

RCZ 06-10-2010 10:36 AM

sigh, okk man. whatever.

I'm just saying that because I had two STI's before the Z and I take offense to what you said.

vipor 06-10-2010 10:38 AM

Well look RCZ, I've got nothing against you but you come out slinging the name calling without seeing the humor in something that you probably know nothing about unless you actually owned one of those vehicles and have been emerced in that culture as well. I know people that own Ferrari's. I don't pretend to understand their culture though.

If you don't like it, fine. You voiced your opion. Move on.

RCZ 06-10-2010 10:40 AM

^ look at my post above...sorry I edited.

Also used to follow lots of WRC and had friends with Real rally cars that compete in the northeast rallies like the NH One. They were evo owners, but they wouldnt have said the kind of thing you said since they have respect thats all. I generally have a good sense of humor :) but what you said didnt seem like a joke.

KillerBee370 06-10-2010 10:40 AM

I didn't mean to offend. I'm sorry RCZ.

RCZ 06-10-2010 10:43 AM

Either way, I don't care, wasn't trying to start ****, just get a little defensive with the whole evo-sti argument hahaha.

KillerBee370 06-10-2010 10:50 AM

I hear ya

You know a car is running PSI when you hear that sound so you know its being boosted and therefore faster than its Naturally aspirated counterpart. Just how a loud exhaust sounds cool on a sports car because you know its got some power, you think it sounds dumb on a 98 sentra b.c it isn't fast or powerful, and probably just has a hole in the muffler. If someone heard the whoosh of a BOV on your car they'd think you had a turbo. Theyd ask you what kind of PSI you were running and you'd say you just had a fake one, and they'd laugh. Its all about fuction. You have to earn those BOV's by having a TT installed.

No need to cus the guy.LOL
