Cruise control not working.

Today on the way home the cruise control stopped working. I did a search here but could not find any posts nor can I find a service bulletin. Tomorrow I am making an appointment with the dealer but was wondering if anyone here has had the cruise control stop working. If so what did the dealer do to fix it? Thanks.

Could be a fuse or one of the bazillion relays in the car. Happened to my 300ZX back in the day. And now that I think of it, just about anything electrical that stopped working ended up being a fuse or relay.

I don't want to ask a dumb question, but how fast were you going? I just ask because I know you have to be going faster than like, 15 or 20.

How many miles do you have on the car? I know they check cruise control
at your 15k/12 month service. Warranty issue obviously

I was going to ask, but about the possibility of him going too fast. I think the range is between 20-90mph.

Does the green "Cruise" light come on when you turn it on? Does the "accel" button work at all? Does it just not let you "set" a speed?

i wonder why they would set the limit so high considering most highways in the US have a 65mph limit?

edit: its not that high but idk im tired and just typing whatever i think... kinda like now

Just like why do they make cars that go 2-4 times the highest speed limits in the country?

If we couldn't speed, the cops wouldn't make money. If the cops can't make money, there would be less officers. I assume you can figure out the rest of this domino effect.

We've had at least one member get upset that he couldn't "cruise" at 100+ mph.

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. I have less than 7K miles on the car, I have read my owners manual and I did re-check it yesterday. At the time the cruise control stopped working I was cruising at 65 mph in the Florida's Turnpike south of Fort Lauderdale. I since tried to set it at 40, 50, 60, and 70 but it is not working. I have an appointment tomorrow (Friday, 5/14/10) at the dealer. will keep you posted.

I haven't even tried mine yet, will see this coming week going down to Zday.

There are some highways in the US with speed limits of 80 MPH and plenty with speed limits of 75.

Well the cruise control on the steering wheel is damaged/broken and it is being replaced under warranty. The dealer has ordered the part and it should be here by the middle of next week. While at the dealer they tightened the drivers seat anchor bolts and it makes much less noises (when I move).

Glad they found the problem!

The steering wheel cruise control parts arrived yesterday (May 20th of 2010) and today the dealer (Maroone Nissan) installed them. The cruise control is working, oh yeah baby!
