alright when you guys shift when racing through the gears do you release the gas a little and shift then hit the gas again or you should just hold the gas down and shift the gears?

I hold it down. I can't see what purpose letting up would serve on an auto; a manual, sure... am I missing something?

on 7 speed paddle shift mode, you should just hold down the gas. The clutch is automatic.
on a stick you would let go if you missed next gear, or not sure of your skills on quick shifting.

For the auto just stick the pedal to the metal and leave it there.

I have had my car for a year and I always shifted without taking my foot off the pedal. A few months ago i would lift off, pop the shifter and then get back on the gas and it was a lot smoother to me and it gave me a better ryhtim when driving. I cant get the feel down that well when i just press the gas and click the paddles or the shifter up. The car seems to jump more that way

There maybe clutches in the transmission (read multiple) but there isn't a clutch in the traditional sense that is engaging and disengaging between gears. The torque converter replaces the function of the manual clutch.

this is true. I was simply stating, he doesn't need to let off the gas as if he was using clutch pedal.

Out of Habit i would lift of and shift but you do not have to, I think the shifts are faster too if you dont lift.

if you're driving in D and you want to trick your tranny into upshifting then lift off.
