Most of the failure I read came from the lines, oil cooler failure is very rare

Couldnt say it any better......good post !! +1 |
Bump cuz I can

I didnt read through the whole thread, but sounds to me like you hit limp mode. If after 15 minutes it was just under 260, then that sounds like it to me. Doesnt it start at 260 and then get reduced more at 280?
Anyway, the highest ive gotten mine was 240 and havent noticed any power loss... |

No power loss until 280, then a severe cut at 300. Prior to that I did have some minor power loss thanks to heat soaking the Stillen G3's and increasing intake temperatures, but that is greatly improved since I insulated them. |

I used the same product as wstar to wrap the intakes, works pretty well. You need 2 total as it is a dual intake. I didn't bother with the lacing as I didn't care about it looking pretty; zip ties and foil tape. Thermo-Tec : Cool-Air Tube Heat Shield |
Still waiting for someone to cut the hood and run the intake piping outside and then back in. Now that would be sweet. Ha!

Is this whole cooler failure common and would it ruin your engine if you turned it off as soon as it happened?

I want to share my small finding on the lost of power as the oil temp gets higher
I did 4 pull back to back which started from 90 C up to 104C on my last dyno tune on Aug 3rd dont ask why im losing all power after 6900 rpm ,, the ECU has been pulling timing since last fall, no matter what i tried , its always the same spot ( 6900+-50rpm)from 6850rpm at 28-29 ign timing down to 22-24 at 7500rpm http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...pink-104-c.jpg |
My stock 350Z used to pull fairly well on an S2000....
The 370Z has a much stronger motor wise then the 350... Sounds like you got a "friday car" |
