Default NEED FORUM HELP on freq. noise problem

I know theres been lots of talks about the freq. noise and wat not, and trying to isolate where its coming from, who has it etc. but my main concern is that because i was told from Nissan that they do not know about the problem ( down below goes a little more into detail ) that they will take their time and deny it and that nothing is wrong. I wanted help from the forum to i guess submit a joint filed complaint about the noise, get a case # etc. so they cannot deny about the problem and maybe they'll try , hopefully, to acknowledge the problem and hurry up and come out with a fix. let me get your guys input. thanks

i copied this post from a reply i just wrote on another discussion:

something needs to be done about this problem. When I talked to my dealership last time they told me nissan knew about the problem and were coming out with a fix for it. I called Nissan North America yesterday and opened a CA file, when i asked if they knew about this problem the person I talked to said there have been no reports / and or is not a known problem with nissan and that they've never heard about this. So basically no one else is experiencing this. I spoke with Sherie Matores ext. 41 629 who was a Customer Representative as Nissan Consumer Affairs. I hate to sell the vehicle back or go the lemon law attorney route but they are leaving me with no options. I need your guys help from the forum to get something done. Maybe a signed petition what not ( dont know what it would be called ) , file a joint complaint with everyone who is experiencing this problem to nissan cause its starting to get ridiculous.

Oh and addition: the person i talked to at my dealership is the Assistant service manager , name is Curtis ( dont remember last name on to of my head, who works at chantilly nissan in chantilly virginia. I have his card in my wallet, wallet in the car get it later if you guys want it ) and when i took my car in to complain about the problem, he told me nissan was aware of it and that a fix was coming out. Not the case when i called nissan northamerica.

They know about it...They just can't tell YOU they know about it..
That's how the customer relations tech lines work with most manufacturers. Deny a problem even while a fix is in the works. Start your own case if you're concerned.

Do you have an update on this post? I have what sounds to be the same problem. High frequency metallic noise coming from area of the passenger side when going over bumps especially. Took the car in to service and the tech did not hear it.

If you guys read in the high pitched noise thread, it stems from the ECU. Replacing the ECU will somewhat fix the issue. I guess it's the power supply section making the noise... not much you can do there.

My solid state drive and graphics card does the same as well.

Ever get annoyed by the CRT sound? Thank goodness for LCD monitors as long as the inverter for the backlight doesn't start making noise. Speaking of which, inverters for Indiglo gauge faces made the same noise as well.

I have gone to the dealer twice about the noise and they have told me both times they dont hear it. To me there full of it. I have spoke to nissan consumer affairs which hopefully a tech will come down to the dealer. If not i will be calling them every day till something gets done.

get a lawyer and threaten to sue, One other member did that and was actually offered said amount of money. The more thats done the more quickly it will get fixed. Look at Toyota, they denied the gas pedal thing forever but now cuz pressure and public criticism comes out they say OK we will fix what we said wasnt broke. These guys are in for making money and they dont care about us,only public impressions, so make an impression to the public and to them. Go to a TV station and see if they will do a story on it. A station back home had a local story every week and it was amazinghow things would get done after that.

I don't think it quite happened the way you are suggesting. One incident of a stuck accelerator doesn't necesitate a safety recall. But several incidents over time does and Toyota responded responsibly imho. I'm not sure what you would of expected differently from Toyota in this situation. Corporations these days are held far more accountable for their actions than they were say 30 years ago. Can you imagine Nissan reading the 'issues' in these forms and instituting recalls without any investigation on their part? It just doesn't happen in the real world and for good reason - they wouldn't make any money for the shareholders, likely go out of business and thousands would be left unemployed. This goes for all car manufactueres. But who am I to say, I'm not a corporate executive.

I saw an article just today on the MSN site that it took some US vehicle safety office to actually fly there and have a meeting with them to get them to acknowledge this and correct it. If that wasnt done and no public stuff was annonced I doubt it would have happen for a long time.

Dayum, i really feel sorry for you guys with the crazy high pitch noise that makes you want to punch the steering wheel till the airbags go off

How can they sell a car when over 60% of them make this horrible noise? (figure based on me reading every noise thread on this forum and takin note who has the noise who doesnt, most agree that everyone has it but at differing lvls)

Not to mention that over time the noise can damage your hearing, that is a real problem....totally pathetic for them to do this to you guys but most of you overlook it for your love of the car which is sad

oh!! make sure your dealer ordered correct one. Just ask them before they put the part in your car. part# or serial # should end with A, not B!!
