Just a wild guess but it may depend on the brake pedal being pushed or not. Or the parking brake position.

I'm going to have to try this in my mom's car. I had no idea this was a thing.

2020 sport touring model. I cant get mine to go into DS mode. Has to be a trick or combo of brake, running or not etc. Anyone ??

I got it to work too. Need to try it out in the morning.

Edit: just tried it. Didn’t feel a difference tbh.

I’ll have to give this a go, I actually wonder if I may have gotten into this mode on accident before because I’ve had it do some aggressive downshifting in the mountains after switching back and forth but I never really paid attention if it has the S or not.

Alright I am back with more information. So no dealership knows about this and as you know, it is not in the owners manual. You can initiate this mode while driving so pedal or emergency brake positions is irrelevant. I have videos on how to turn it on, but I do not know how to attach them.

I also have another video turning it on while driving, showing that you cannot use the paddle shifters.

Best I could do is email you a video if you contact me: larmenta478@gmail.com.

I have VR30 swapped 7AT and am debating wherever to try it or leave well enough alone.

Nice Find! This is exactly it.

There is a theory that it is tied to the cluster. This would be a perfect opportunity to find out. If you attempt it, and you see DS mode, then it is most likely conenct to the cluster rather than the transmission.
