SLuggish Start.. What Happened ??

What happened? Pulled out and drove my Nismo down the street, was super sluggish as if I were in 4th gear from the start, RPMS max 2500. Turned car off, restarted, same sluggish response. Turned car off again for a 30 sec rest, started again and back to beast power again. Was this just a computer issue not communicating ? Thanks for your responses..

Grab any DTCs from the ECM and do a web search for the code(s).

Do an ECM reset.

Clean your MAFs.

This is going to sound weird, but this was happening to me all the time at one point, and I sh!t you not, it was due to low brake fluid levels. It must be a safety feature. As soon as I topped off my brake fluid, I have never had the problem again.

Most likely your MAF sensors. Hook up a OBD II scanner and it will tell you for sure.

This happens to me once in a while, and I shut it off, wait about 10 seconds, open/close door (I do this because all the lights fully turn off when I open the door), and re-start and runs like a beast.

This has happened to me twice, aka limp mode. The first time was within the first week of me buying my car and still learning how to drive a manual. I stalled the car at a red light, freaked out and I think I may have started it back up and tried to take off a little too quickly. It stayed in limp mode for probably 30 minutes. I parked in a parking lot and waited a while and eventually I started it back up and could rev high again.

The 2nd time this happened was about a year later and I almost stalled it. Like literally came about as close to stalling as you can without actually stalling. It happened just a few minutes from my destination, a Target store. Once I was done in Target, about 30 minutes later, I came out and everything was normal again.

So for me, my experice with limp mode has been due to my own poor foot work. Jump to two years of owning my car, I no longer use SRM, utilize heel/toe downshifting technique in normal everyday driving and my penis is larger because of it.

Quite a while back, I had a similar experience on about 3 occasions in relatively close succession (maybe over a 4 month period of time). Cleaning the throttle bodies and MAFs seemed to eliminate it, and I didn't experience it again. I've since swapped to a ported TB and I have never had a recurrence.

I had this issue on my 2013 Z - they had to update the firmware on my computer, took care of the issue.

It would happen to me every few months - and if I sat and restarted it a few times, my power was right back to normal - just like you described.
