Default Rattle/ticking sound above 4000 rpm

I've just noticed this rattle/clicking/ticking sound under the hood when I'm driving during a pull. There's nothing out of the ordinary when sitting at an idle. It's just when the motor is under a load. Today when I got home I put the car in park and held a steady 4500 rpm then 5500. No noise as described while in park. The car doesn't use oil nor does it smoke at all. It's not like an engine knock either. To me is sounds like aluminum foil being pecked on really fast. Yeah I know that's a sad analogy. I've heard it once before about 2 weeks ago. It went away until today. Could it be vibration of some sort? I don't know weather to be concerned or what. Please help

More info. I always use 93 octane gas. Yesterday I added a can of octane booster. Maybe this info will help

I would get the car up in the air if possible to see if something is loose like the exhaust manifold shields. Is the ticking noise at the same pace as the rpms?

Possibly just the naturally noisy valve train. Might try some ester oil next change; it's supposed to help quiet the valve train.

Seems as the rpms climb so does the tick. In park while maintaining high rpm its silky smooth
Ticking is while in a hard high rpm pull while driving. Mainly on drivers side

If the tick is in sync with the rpms, I would use ester oil for your next oil change to help quite down the vvel noise.

This morning I picked up the sound on the way to work. It definitely isn't in sync with the rpm. It just gets louder with higher rpm. It's very speratic frying bacon sound. Maybe injectors or spark jumping. The car doesn't miss at all. I don't think it sounds mechanical.

... VVEL is pretty noisy.

However, you should hear a similar noise (maybe not as prominent) even at idle. I've had an NTB tech tell me that I had some "spark knock" going on when he was just hearing the VVEL chatter with the car sitting at idle. Stick to tires and batteries, dude

It's just a weird sound. If I walk to the front of the car at idle I don't even know it's running its that quiet up front. Thanks everybody for their input. I'm very greatful. I will be changing to ester next oil change

Check your O2 sensor. I think that was what was happening to mine. I'd hear something like metal clinking together really fast. I thought it was my exhaust but when we narrowed where the sound was coming from it ended up being a loose sensor that was rattling around at certain rpms.

Since you mentioned that. I was pulling out of Dairy Queen the other night and I bottomed out pretty hard. I never thought twice about it. I'll check that out. Thanks.

your intake tubes are hitting the Refrigerant line on the driver side.

Ok everybody I got the oil changed with Nissan ester. The sound at a hard pull is still there. I wish I could explain the sound better. Anyways. Today I decided to make pulls form 3k to 4k as I got close to 4k the sound showed up as usual. I maintained 4500 rpm and the sound leaves. Pull from 4500 to 5000 and the sound comes back. I maintain 5000 the sound leAves. Same when pulling to 6000. Noise while making it to 6000 but leaves as soon I match the throttle to maintain 6000. Could it be injectors? Almost sounds like when a spark plug is tested when you can see the spark jump. Just a random fast sparatic sound.

This morning I took the cold air intake apart and adjusted all the fittings and made sure everything was tight. Took it for a spin and same noise. If I smoothly upped the Rpm the sound never showed up. If I romped the throttle it showed up. I'm confused. I guess turn the radio on and hope for the best.

Engine is moving under load and causing a moving part to come in contact with something?
