Here is a video of a cold start with my 2012 Z. It has 82k miles, I've owned for about 6 months and it does this 90% of the time on cold starts.

First things to look at would be belt and pulleys

First thing to do would be to change the belt. Get a Nissan belt. They always last the longest without squeaking.

I will definitely change the belt. Is it something that can be done at home with basic tools or should a mechanic handle it? I'm fairly experienced with vehicles.

Sounds like a velociraptor from Jurassic Park movie. Most likely, belts.

If you feel like tackling it, yes it's easy. While the belt is off, give your pulleys a spin to see if there loose or noisy

It's a pretty simple job - as long as you remember how the old belt was routed when you go to put the new belt on. It goes a lot easier if you have a helper to lock the tensioning arm while you are torquing on it, but they don't have to have any mechanical experience. More than one DIY on this site and probably several videos on Youtube.
