Don't be paranoid. Some oil loss between changes is normal. See my earlier post. I check my oil every two weeks. I change my oil every 3,000 miles or 3 months and my oil level drops a little over an 1/8th of a quart. Check the oil following the directions per the owners manual. |

I get some consumption. The latest stat for me is about 1/2-3/4 a quart of oil with two 100F+ degree track days and some daily driving on a motor with 104K on it. That said, I would recommend installing your own dual catch-can system if you are overly concerned about it.

5000 mile intervals since new. 19,600 on odometer. Nissan ester oil and k&n or nismo filter. Always refill with 5 1/8 Quarts (as recommended in manual). Add between 1/2 and 1 full quart between changes as level lowers a bit. I do know that ester oil WILL burn at high revs and temperatures, but burns clean.
Question? Are you doing your own oil changes or are you relying on the stealership to do so? I know three different stealerships that would put 6 quarts in my Juke when it only requires 4 3/4 quarts with change. Just curious if this is all your own determinations or what a dealership may be telling you to get you to buy another car... |
59K on odometer, using PYB change it every 3500 to 4000 miles and no oil usage at all.
Using Nissan oil filter. I do not track and do not beat the **** out of it, no race car driving :), I know, the OP was asking 2011 and up but since my year model is supposed to use a quart every 1000 miles I thought it interesting that is does not. |

You should just change your oil yourself. They can't deny your warranty just because you do your own oil changes. |
Nissan Ester oil is supposedly mineral oil, vegetable oil, and animal fats that is synthesized in process. Synthetic oil like mobile one is synthesized dinosaur oil, like regular oil, only synthesized in process.
Not trying to start an oil debate, everyone has their preferences, I prefer Nissan Ester oil. |
