Throttle won't go above 20%
This happened to me a week ago and I haven't seen it since. 2013 Nismo MT.
I started my car and backed out of my driveway. I noticed the throttle response was a little off. As I went down my street I tried to accelerate quickly, but could only get about 20% power. As I started to push the gas pedal it acted normal, but once the pedal was at about 20% my car didn't respond any more. Even with the pedal to the floor it was as if the pedal was still at 20%. The gear I was in didn't matter. After I got to my destination I restarted my Z and it worked fine. It hasn't come back since. Just a glitch with the drive-by-wire system? Problem with the pedal position sensor? Hopefully just a one time glitch, but it has me worrying. |
Any pending codes?

If there's no pending codes and it doesn't happen again, chalk it up to a glitch in the matrix. If it happens again, I'd start by checking the switches/connections on the pedal itself.

Any tuning software?

Was it purely the throttle or were you limited in RPM? Could have been limp mode, especially if it went away when you restarted the car.

I had something similar happen to me and it turned out to be a bad connection to one of the throttle bodies. I had installed a Stillen SC kit with the A2A upgrade and the car drove fine for many miles and then suddenly it would go into limp mode while driving. Shut the car off and restart would fix it every time. I took all of the cable ties off and re-seated the throttle body connections. This time when I installed new cable ties I made sure to leave the wires a little loose. So far the problem has not come back. Check all your connections on the MAF and throttle bodies. I recommend disconnecting them and then re-connecting them to be sure you hear a click when they seat in the connector.

Hmm, I've been having the same issue off an on over the past few months. But it's been happening more frequently recently. I have a 2013 370z 60k miles Roadster here. The car limped into the stealership while the issue was happening and they said they would hook it up to the diagnostic machine. There was no check engine light on at all and the symptoms were exactly the same, the tech guy took it for a spin to see what the issue was and he said he's not come across this issue before.
They hooked it up and I'm not exactly sure how they were able to determine this (since no check engine light was on) but they said "DIAG DTC P010B STORED DUE TO FAILED MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR BANK 2" They claimed that they took the sensor out and cleaned it and put it back in. Needless to say it worked all day then the next morning the same thing happened. It mainly happens when the engine is cold fyi. The story they told me was that since I had K&N air filters in the car (the oiled kind) that oil had been sucked back into the mass air flow sensor and caused it to go bad. They charged me $97 for the diagnostic read and were wanting to charge me another $260 for a MAF and another $100 to flash my ECU with an update! I was like err.. no, it's ok, I can replace the MAF myself, (since it's a piece of piss to install) and you can pick up a new Cardone MAF for around $160. So I got the part and am going to install today. But I'm not convinced that this is the issue. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs to alert them of the situation as I got the feeling the stealership just want to get there money for the diagnostic, because had they not found anything they wouldn't have charged. In any case Nissan consumer affairs said they will cover the cost of the diagnostic. I'll let you know how I get on once the new MAF is installed. Cheers, and thanks for starting this thread. BB |

P0101 - Mass Air Flow "A" Circuit Range/Performance P010B - Mass Air Flow "B" Circuit Range/Performance So I'll check all the wiring, clean the sensors, and check for leaks in the stillen G3 tubes. |

did it happen to rain the night before this happened? I have the same issue when it rains and leave my car outside. I found that the driver's side air filter gets soaked with water and it throws the car into a limp mode and gives me a very similar, if not identical issue. only way to know is to check the filter or pull the maf sensor and check for moisture. |
I'm having this same issue, same code. Gonna clean the MAF and throttle body and see if that helps.
