Crank Pulley Replacement

Has anyone replaced their OEM crank pulley with an aftermarket one? If so, which ones did you guys go with and how much of a difference in HP did you achieve?

You have 2 options

Don't know if NST is even around anymore.

I have the NST setup for years and have not had any issues.

Several threads on this subject already. If site's search isn't working well for you, try any of the big web search engines and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string. Eg, https://duckduckgo.com/?q=crank+pull...%3Athe370z.com

ATI damper and be done with it.

That's the route I went. Rather have reliability than an extra 1whp.

Nope. It relieves a lot of the stresses on the end of the crank and oil pump and smooths everything out.

barncobob 04-21-2016 06:23 PM

I dunno know, my 16 4K miles at runs idle runs so smooth I sometimes think it has stopped, have to look at tach

Chuck33079 04-21-2016 06:28 PM

At idle. It's at high rpm these motors get a little thrashy.

Yeah, but NST scammed a whole bunch of members here and isn't a vendor here anymore.

so thatīs 10hp from a untrustworthy vendor on a car with what mods?

this dyno chart from a forum member with a stillen pulley seems more in line with the gains youīd expect from a crank pulley swap. I donīt even think Iīd bother to turn a wrench for 3hp.

If I was looking to lose rotating mass, I'd go with a light flywheel and the ATI damper.

FLUJOKE 04-22-2016 11:05 AM

NST is still around and they're out of Houston. They're pulleys are very light and solid so far with me. If you're going boosted go with ATI like people said but otherwise you should be ok. I went NST over stillen bc they offer and OD Alternator pulley as well. I went w/ NST over ATI bc of costs and not boosted. I feel a huge amount of stress lifted off the engine and it should be everyone's 1st mod.
