:shakes head:

i'm still at the fork in the road between do i spend $25k on boosting the Z or do i just get a different vehicle. so far waiting to go with a different vehicle still winning :tiphat:

Yeah 25k is alot. Im still going to n play the waiting game to stay NA. My turbo is a dry sump and a billet crank

they posted a flow video and it's pretty good.

the avg cylinder flow stock in rounded numbers was 190cm3

the avg cylinder flow of the new lower was 256cm3

that's a pretty decent increase. I would assume much more than the port and polish that I've seen most people do recently.

If they don't charge an arm and a leg they will sell quite a few I think.

we have seen HP/TQ increases from people just porting stock OEM lowers so a lower purpose built should take those numbers even higher.

the numbers show around 25-30% increase in air flow volume. I have no idea what the increase is on an OEM ported lower to compare. so for now its hard to say. once they release and we see some dyno numbers that'll be the deciding factor.

Add some JWT cams in the mix!

A new lower doesnt make sense. It cant get any bigger vs porting unless you port the head too or you'll have a big lip. Obviously a machined piece will be more accurate vs hand porting or maybe give it a different shape or funnel? Maybe the runner length will get longer or shorter?? Will that add or move power around? If it does you could always take a oem lower and just machine the top or each side to shorten it. Hmmm what would a shorter lower do? What about machining a spacer making it longer?

We do need a uppet though!

You could port the crap out of a oem lower, theres like 1/4" of metal between each runner but you cant port more than a few mm on the bottom or you open to much having a lip from the heads killing flow. Also the upper part cant go to big or the upper mani wont flow anymore and you cant port the upper mani to much cause you'll port into the gasket ring. So basically you can port the crap out of a oem lower increasing flow but the shape will turn into skinny top and bottom with a fat mid section. I have no idea what that'd do for flow design.

It may flow a lot. But what about port velocity?

Which the shape i descibed would do what do you think?

oh god port master scotty is here now

Lets keep.it civil lol. This is all good.information out here.

JARblue 10-02-2015 09:46 AM

Give me something that looks good and isn't one-off custom price range.

Elmo370z 10-02-2015 09:56 AM

I just want something that's going to flow

Wait.....what? What is this one off intake manifold that you speak of? I definitely missed that memo!
