Gear box feels like shifting in sand

So i just got a new long block under warranty from the dealer and i put in a south bend stage 2 clutch in her with a Z1 HD CSC. Had a few issues with the CSC not bleeding correctly but finally got it resolved. Now im running into an issue with shifting. The clutch engages and disengages without issue but when shifting into ANY gear it feels like im having to push harder into each gear. There is no binding, no grinding, or slipping but for lack of a better description it feels like im shifting in sand. it almost feels as though something is over tightened but i pulled apart the shifter and shifter plate and found nothing binding there. Has anyone run into this issue before? Im thinking that they may have forgotten to fill the transmission back up with fluid but i wouldnt think that would be the issue. I didnt have this issue before the car went in for the long block install. only thing new is the CSC and the clutch as far as the transmission is concern. thanks for your help!

Damn...and I thought you're in the clear now. I think you should contact Joe directly for opinion since he's probably more knowledgeable about this set up than anyone on the forum.

Where is the clutch pedal engangement point?

Joe installed pretty much the same setup as you are describing, minus the engine change.
I had a weird issue for awhile that when I really romped on it, I would get shaking when I depressed the clutch and it felt like it was "pushing back" at me. After awhile, it went away and is now driving perfectly, even when I romp on it.
Don't know if this helps or not, but there seemed to be a pretty hefty break-in time after the install.

It's about 3 inches from the top, no slop at all

Not getting anything like that. Everything else feels normal just the tough shifting :/

Make sure your shifter plate is properly aligned. That will screw up your shifts.

If it could be adjusted about an inch from top, would it change the shifting effort?

I could look at that but not sure that would resolve the stick shift effort...like I said it feels like im shifting in sand. So odd

Did you change the trans fluid wt/brand? If so, go back to the original wt/brand and see if that helps.

Also check the bolt through the bottom of the shifter, If they over tighten that it will make the shifter feel "Stiff"

Not sure what you mean with Z1 CSC? Assuming you have our HD CSC?

Yeah the HD CSC. I'm the guy with the bleeder valve issue last week btw, Joe.
