Ultimate Z1 Header thread

Christmas in August!!

Well here they are and these are AWESOME!!
if you want to see what gains are to be had for the Z1 headers I would suggest you subscribe to this thread!
while it is a few months out OCT 12 is install date I just wanted to let everyone know how I plan on doing this!
1. the headers are being ceramic coated next week to keep the temps down under the hood.
2.Monday Oct 12 there is going to be a dyno run before install.
list of my current mods on car Stillen Gen3 Berk HFC Ark Exhaust Ported Plenum tuned with UpRev last dyno done when car was tuned 320whp-268tq that was with M370 which is now gone and I have switched over to my ported stock plenum.
3.dyno run with new Z1 headers and HFC for baseline..
4.GoodBye uprev Hello ECUTEK im switching over to ECUTEK for hopefully more power..

Souls be around 345-350 my guess. Long tubes i think would net you more power, but that's could be up for debate.

Even high flow cats will hold back HP. It's going to be hard to see gains and what the headers could do.

As much as I would love to run the long tube headers I have to smog my car every year..I always see threads of people saying shorty headers yield no gains but never see a dyno to back it up..I have seen a dyno with stillen headers that netted 12whp.. If I can pick up 20whp with the ecutek tune and headers I'll be happy.2 months we will find out if they are worth the money or not!

I want say thank you for doing this. Can't wait to see the result.

here are some long tubes installed by Seb and a dyno run..long tubes picked up great mid range but 0 on the top end..

Z34 Header Test & Tune |

Stillen headers installed in a sedan with nothing else.. so their's proof that they can make power.

You can use berk HFCs with the z1 shorties? I was told you can't..

Is SZ doing the install and tune?

You made 301whp with 4.08 gears?

GZ3 09-01-2015 12:47 PM

great thread!

thanks for doing this man...Id getting old and grey waiting for motordyne to do LTH so ive been tossing the idea of these shorties with the HFC....

Someone did/has PPE LTH with race cats (200 cell) but i can find these anywhere....so this would be a good back up for me I believe z1 HFC are 300cell

Dragon_Ball_Z 09-01-2015 12:48 PM

So z1 shorties work with berk HFCs?
