I have been using it with the RJM clutch pedal for ~6 months and 10K miles. No issues whatsoever. I've got a little bit of dead space at the top of the pedal, but I think it's because of how I have it adjusted. When I called Z1, the guy I spoke with on the phone said it was probably normal, but also acknowledged that he didn't know of anyone else who was running the RJM pedal with this kit. Either way, the dead space is minimal and doesn't bother me :driving:

So it's almost been a year, everyone is happy with this kit? I am thinking to get this elimination kit instead of the ZSpeed or other HD CSC kit. Any feed back would be awesome! Also, does this kit compatible with the Specialty-Z clutch/flywheel kit?

I think the kit should be compatible with pretty much any clutch/flywheel combo that fits on the Z. Specialty-Z kit is one of the best from what I hear, but I thought it came with it's own HD CSC. |

I got this Z1 csc elimination kit along with the z1 flywheel/clutch combo. at the same time, i got a new transmission thru warranty because of a crunchy 2nd gear at the dealership at around 50k miles. they installed all new components. i don't think i got a new master clutch cylinder.
so when i got the car back it, the feel was just so much better than stock. i wasn't used to the clutch being so firm. it took a while to get used to it but the feel is great. it just grabs. I gave it about 500 of easy miles to break in the clutch. and over that time, the clutch now is easier to depress from when i first got it, i'm not sure if my leg just got stronger. but it definitely doesn't feel like the first day. i'm guessing i just broke it in and it's normal. it still feels firmer over stock. is this normal? last weekend i went on a mountain run, it was pretty much the first time i drove it hard and for a long distance at once since i got the clutch. alot of 2 to 3rd shifting. when i was driving back home i felt the pedal sticking when pressing the pedal and depressing it. i hear no noises, and the clutch feel and grab is the same so far. no leaks that i can see in the floor. By sticking i mean the pedal struggles to travel down and up, almost like a vibration. this happens when the car is ON and not when the car is off. i feel it on all gears. has anyone felt something like this? |

i have the lighter century spring in there now. the pedal doesn't stick down. something is binding. i only feel it when the car is on. also it's a bit squeaky now when i push down.

The cylinder, I mean. Not my clutch pedal. I hear it very well in my garage where the sound can rebound off the wall. |

Thanks, Jon |
What's the longest running mileage car with one of these installed?

So, Jon, as you know, I just had mine installed out of necessity (let's call it that lol). Today, the day after, I was hearing a...i dunno, grinding kind of sound, almost like the synchros were grinding, but there was no mechanical movement or shuddering to the car...My clutch and flywheel are OEM, about 60k on it total. Rob told me that the clutch looked good..
What do you think it could be? Do I need to let my car come up to normal operating temperatures before trying to engage the clutch..? |

I've heard from a friend that the more you have (aftermarket wise) the smaller window of adjustment you have...currently, he's got a Nismo 350 with the latest RJM adjustable clutch pedal, aftermarket master cylinder, clutch, flywheel, and the Z1 elimination kit. With those, he's saying he has to periodically adjust (more than average) due to the stack height and wear on the clutch.
So the more you have done, the more you're going to have to adjust it. Personally, I still have oem flywheel and clutch, so I haven't had a need to adjust just yet. 8k miles and still running strong. |

Ummmm.... no. I've installed many aftermarket clutches and components over the years and if everything is done right, like John said, there is only one time you have to adjust anything. After that, it's just :driving: If your friend is having to readjust things on a regular basis, then one of two things is going on, he didn't get the adjustment nuts locked tight or there is a problem in the install. :twocents: |
Thinking about what you guys have said, I'm thinking he probably installed the parts post-z1 elimination kit install.
In other news, someone else I know has had their Zspeed HD CSC fail....+1 for the the z1 elim. group. |
