What is the tension of the spring compared to the OEM spring. Right now im driving without a spring, but i would like a spring just to get rid of the soft pedal at the top. PM me?
Thanks, Austin |
The OEM spring I believe is rated for around 300-330 pounds if I remember form the other threads. But for these springs they are rated at 52 pounds.
Simota1 - I was already thinking that when we were talking in pm. Lol! I actually have some question regarding the gauge I will pm you later once I check on the shipping to Guam. taddraughn - you have a pm. |
Night and Day difference! Instantly smoother shifts. I love it. I did not notice anymore effort to push, so if it does it's very minimal.
Best $20 mod on the 370z/G37 hands down. |
Just bought mine, cant wait till I install it.

is there a diy for this mod?

Elric - you have a pm.
Bump yes they are still available. Gauge your right! But I think it's because everyone eventually thinks why the f*ck does my clutch on this thing feel like such a piece of sh!t. The feel in the pedal is garbage OEM IMO. The first summer I owned it I considered selling it abut hyping something else but then I found this! It feels much more consistent through every shift for where th cluth "grabs" IMO! I live it now and pretty much everyone who has modified there's that I hear back from, all say the like the difference to! Hope everyone enjoys! Especially for such a cheap fix! You don't have to go out and buy a different clutch which is $$$$ |

Got it! Shipments going out Friday as usual......
|
I'm Interested, PM me!. Can't wait to replace the spring :)
|
So people are replacing the spring? I read on other forums about people who just remove the spring period. Any thoughts on which to do?
|
Removing the spring also works. However on some of the threads here it was discussed how there was side to side play in the clutch pedal assembly with no spring. With a spring it makes it much more rigid feeling, pedal feels supported the whole way up and down. So yes no spring works......... But are just thinking it might cause a little extra unnecessary wear on it. In the end it's up to you both work and both are a huge improvement over the OEM spring IMO.

I am still waiting for mine...can't wait to install it! :) I have had the car for three weeks now, and my 1st to 2nd still sucks every once in a while! :D
|
I didn't notice much if any side to side movement with no spring, but the slop at the top of the pedal was unpleasant.
|
ahh... okay i guess i'll be ordering a spring soon. thanks all.
|
just installed mine right now, went for a drive.. and all i can say is that it feels so much better :happydance: thanks for the spring mike! the only part that is a little annoying is free play but its whatever.

As for the little bit of play maybe 1/4"-1/2" tops. From what some people have told me is starting to sound common as the only complaint after some installs....... However I have talked with another member and there is a way you can adjust that......at least they said they could. Weird though because mine had no issues.... I should be getting my car out of storage hopefully March 31st(sounds weird to say that living in Ontario lol). So when I have my car I am going to take out my spring and reinstall doing a DIY in the process for everyone. I will also then play around with the seating plates that are in the assembly and post a fix for that as well. In the mean time hope everyone is enjoying the springs!!!! |

When putting the pin back in (I removed my spring to test this out), I had the hardest time doing so. I depressed the clutch to the floor, brought it back some, wiggled it, tried compressing the spring, using a flathead to pry up on the assembly, but nothing would let me get the pin past 3/4 of the way in. I had to use locking pliers to finish the job.. what the hell did I do wrong  |
