Blinking Kahtec Fog Light Install
 

Here is a quick write up on how to wire a kahtec module to your rear fog light and can also apply to the top center brake light.

I installed the Evo R rear fog light using this DIY http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...t-install.html

and had it set to the pulsing mode but ultimately did not want it to keep blinking continuously. I came across Kahtec who make different modules to make a 3rd brake light flash and then stay solid.

I went with the Blinking Smart Stop Delay Version (Item #: 301-2003-11) and wired it up according to the following diagram I made. I'm not 100% sure that the colors from the tail light harness are green and black but its the colors I used on my extentions. I will double check

All you need to wire it up is a soldering iron, solder, wire strippers and shrink tubing. The actual module I then tie wrapped to the top of the crash bar which should be safe from water.

Quick question - when you flip your lights on...does the fog come on as well and then get brighter once you hit the brakes? The only reason I ask is because one of the videos on the EVO-R site shows the fog as coming on with lights and then getting brighter once you hit brakes.

I am trying to figure out if there is a way for the fog light to stay on and then blink when the brake is pressed but stay illuminated once released.

Is this possible?

Yes... This is the smart feature thats built into the EVO-R light itself.. All you have to do is splice the coninuous power wire from the light to your parking lights wire in driver side taillight, and splice the flasher wire from the light to the brake light wire in driver side taillight. Pretty easy. Now of course, your brakes will be lit when applied, but your EVO-R light will continuously blink until you release your brakes...

I'm wondering this as well. Will your diagram allow the fog light to perform like the regular brake light, except with the flashing?

(Off - day, flash on brake, solid on with smart delay)
(On - night, flash on brake, solid on with smart delay)
