Im going for a more factory look, but with the tablet still being able to be removed. What did you do for a charging/implementing it into factory and/or aftermarket speakers.

If they ever come out with a smaller iPad, it would be perfect for that spot. The current iPod is just too big IMO. Does the Galaxy have GPS? That would be the only reason I'd want a tablet in the car...and maybe for music.

I plan on removing the factory deck and only using a tablet. With Verizon you can get Navi, but im hoping to find a free version to run instead. With the cost of XM radio/High end deck (was going to get a Kenwood 9990HD) I can pretty much have a car PC. There isnt to much an iPad or tablet can not do, and is a lot cheaper than the 9990HD. It can also be carried with when you arrive at your destination. I am 100% sold on this setup.

I keep hearing rumors about it, esp. with the new iPhone 5 out - the mini's will have it's smaller, more powerful(?) lightning connector. |

Wow! Thanks for that link, I need to be patient I think. Any idea if it will be able to do what I posted above that the Android software is capable of? Or will we just have to wait and see what the new one can do?

With this set up, I added MIFI and A2DP. I'm on the internet and have pandora running thru my factory speakers with only a power wire hard mounted. If you rotate it sideways you could fit it in the center and get it custom flush mounted with fiberglass into the dash.. radio are going out of style and tablets are replacing them with more practical aps and function. Yes a 10.1 can be flush mounted but, I'm into whp rather than looks so this is good enough for me..

Im not big into Smart phones/tablets and all the apps they come with/can be had. My cell phone only has talk and text, not even picture text. I feel like the phone companies are ripping everyone off so I refuse to fall into the trend. We have 2 iTouch and an iPad, but I only use them for music/games.
Until I came across this as an option I had no idea how much these tablets can do. Now the hard part is going to be picking the right one. There are so many options! I also keep reading about new smaller tablets with the power of the larger ones coming out so im trying to wait a little longer. With the extra time I can continue to learn about them. I really want an iPad because I am used to the UI but anything with a screen that large will require a lot of dash modifications. I have no problem doing that, but slapping in a 7" tablet would be so much easier. Even if they make a smaller iPad I still may not go with it because of the loss of music while using Navi (I have not tested this just what I have read). If that is fixed in the new version then I will get one for sure. Quote:
