Does anyone have a picture of the Euro fog light switch, and it's location? I would like to check and see if I have a wire harness run to that location. My fog light is wired, it is only missing the light and switch from what I can tell so far. Sorry if this has been addressed before.

It is on the steering column where the light switch is I believe, there is an extra flip to turn on the fog light.

Uggggg that could be a problem. I was hoping it was the dead switch between the seat warmer switches. :icon14:

but the lamp is pretty damn bright as it is...

Oh, if it's already really bright with this bulb, then I guess I could do without an LED.

^^ my fog light is brighter than my taillights and 3rd brake light hehe, and thats with the bulb that comes with the fog light.

However, the other end of the wires from the plug I found, is connected to nothing since My car didnt come with the "Fog light switch".

What I did was: plugged in the harness into the fog light. Then took the trunk panels (inside) off so that I could see the frame, which exposed a couple wiring harnesses. The light orange wire is the one that went to the fog light plug, and the green wire (i think, im not remembering very well) went to turn on the taillights when the brake is presssed. So I spliced those wires together, and that was it.

Now my fog light turns on everytime i hit the brakes.

Thanks for the tip. I did this as well. Nice and easy, and you only have to remove the rear trunk panel.

I was thinking about using this spot for a switch, too. Was this used for another switch included with some other options? Why is it there?

kenchan 10-29-2009 12:00 PM

heated seats option for leather and i think the center one was for the soft top retract.

Pointman 10-29-2009 02:27 PM

It would be cool to use the soft top retract switch for the fog. It would retain the factory look and be a little inside joke for those of us with the coupe. Nissan dropped the ball by not making this an American option imo. Or atleast a retro fit kit. :shakes head:

wat kinda bugs me is nissan couldve given us base folks a coin holder or something where the blanks go. maybe even a shallower cup where i could rest my blackberry or something.

the blanks are on a bezel with 3 holes for the switch... and this bezel screws onto the trim from the bottom so they could've easily made a small cup for the trim and just screw it on for a nice factory look.

Anyone have an opinion on this?

Your 370Z is pre-wired for this easy install

... mine has no wires in the rear bumper for the foglamp...

Mine was pre-wired on the fog light end. Does the other end go all the way to the steering column, so this is just plug-n-play?

There are some with wires down by the rear fog and some without, mine did not have any when I was installing mine (thought maybe I missed them). Maybe later models started having the wired added?

No, been working on mine the last couple of days. I have no idea where the wiring starts on the other end of things, but it's not "hot" at all. I tapped into the wiring just before the firewall grommet you see in my pic (still utilizing the harness plug down below). Then wired to the tail lamp.

I'm still working on it, as I haven't decided my final solution. The whole idea of getting this fog lamp (for me) was to aid in backing up, as I'm not used to the blind spots the rear pillars give me. I also want it to flash when in reverse. I've hooked it up to the tail light, but it is pretty bright. So I've decided against that for now, as to not piss off any other drivers or cops. As of now, I simply have it tapped into the reverse lights. I'll do the flasher when in reverse, and I think I will run a switch to manually turn it off and on with the tail lights.

Oh, forgot to add...if you have the harness on your Z, then the two wires in this bundle that you need is the orange wire (+) and largest black wire (-).
