So how much of a PITA is this job? I'd like to do some custom gauges...or at minimum delete the clock with a wideband. Is there a plug in the firewall without doing a complete dash removal?

It's a big pain in the ***. But well worth it. Not sure what you mean by plug but I don't think replying the gauges is possible without removing the dash or just ripping them out. And all three gauges are one panel, you can't replace just one.

Ah, I see. I just went through the factory former behind the batter, behind the glove box, and then up into the radio area.

I haven't tested my theory yet, but I believe you can pull the gauge cluster through the area where the cubby sits.
I think you might be able to use a right angle screwdriver and remove the 4 screws to pull it.
I may be completely wrong, but after seeing the inside of a removed dashboard, I'm hoping that I'm right.

I had them for oil temp, oil pressure and afr. They're a perfect size but I did'nt like them for personal taste reasons. Swapped them for Prosport 60mm JDM.

The Tanabe Revel VLS gauges look nice. Always wanted to experiment with them.

It's getting closer and closer to when I can finally put my Defi A1's in.
