No worries. I just pulled mine out this morning and got what I needed.

Quick question guys - it says in the PDF on the NavTool site that the 370Z version should be plugged into the nav and not the back of the screen. However, it looks like it's plugged into the back of the screen here.

Who is right? I hope NavTool is because it would be an easier job!

When I did my writeup there was no instructions from navtool, I see where they say that on teh website, but I have no idea where that interface is

On my car the nav is a DVD-based system and the disc is loaded behind a flap behind the drivers seat - this is the actual nav computer too. I guess it's similar in yours.

Since its in the boot (trunk) of the car then it would be an easier install because the reverse light feed is there, you could take the power from the nav computer and you don't need to pull the dash apart.

I'm hoping to buy one of these so I'll let you know how I get on :)

I'm just fitting this right now and I have a problem - the screen shows the nav whatever I do. At first I thought I'd wired it wrong but when I was diagnosing it I made a discovery...

When I remove the 9-pin connector from the NavTool box the nav screen still shows. This makes me think the loom on the 'Y' shaped wire is wrong. My car is a 2009 UK model.

Could someone do me a favour and pull the 9-pin wire from there box and confirm the screen goes blank?

By the way, I did get in contact with NavTool before I started the job and they said the cable should go straight into the back of the screen so this is what I have done.

I've emailed tech support but in the mean time I've been looking into the wiring. I'm convinced it's because the loom is wrong for my car. Checking the wiring I can see it's trying to switch the correct cables when looking at the US schematics. I think the UK schematics must be different. Strange, you would have thought the screens would be the same for both.

I wonder if my screen is the same as the 2010 ones in the US? Maybe the other type of switcher will work. However, I don't have the reversing camera option on the screen menu...

OK, so nearly a week goes by and I've heard nothing from NavTool tech support. I've sent reminder emails too.

It looks like a good product (once I can get it to work) but the support is zero right now :(

Right, I finally got this working today. I've still not heard back from Navtool and have to give them 0 out of 100 for tech support. If I could give them less than zero I would.

In the end I got hold of the US & UK car wiring diagrams and remade the y shaped loom myself. I'm really pleased with the result.

Like I said - nice product, just don't expect to hear from them once they have your money.

/\ I'm having the problem of no backup camera image when I shift into reverse. Double checked the wiring & very sure that wiring has been done right, oem nav screen works fine & operates the way it should but still on backup image.

You mentioned about the plug & play harness...initially the harness adapter end to oem nav screen wouldn't simply slide in without some effort b/c a portion of this plug was sitting high.

I've emailed tech support at Navitool & waiting response.

If it's anything like I've experienced then it'll be a long wait. My plug was difficult to fit into the screen too but once I worked out it needed to be pressed tighter together it went in OK.

My wiring was all wrong because the y cable was wired for US cars (I did email sales before I bought it and they said it worked on UK ones - if it does they sent me the wrong cable).

If you disconnect the box does your nav screen still work? It shouldn't. Similarly, if you use the toggle switch the nav screen should not work either. If it does then you have the wrong y cable. Maybe you've got mine!!!!

/\ I'll have to check, so you mean just disconnect p&p harness & reattach oem plug to see if nav screen works? I know that toggle switch does nothing b/c I've switched the toggle back & forth.

No, leave the harness in place and just unplug the Navtool box. With my incorrect y shaped harness the nav screen still showed up even when the Navtool was not connected. This is obviously wrong since the Navtool is supposed to interrupt and switch the video signal.

If your toggle switch doesn't work then maybe your cable is wrong. That's the first thing I noticed.

Just a quick update. Still no word from NavTool - seriously unimpressed!

Anyway....

I chose to mount my NavTool under the dash by the 12v socket. The advantage of doing this is you don't need to extend the video cable and you have an easy 12v supply. There is plenty of room to tuck it away under the dash and it's easy to get to if you want to plug something else it or change the brightness control.

if you use video 2 connection for camera & don't use video 1, then toggle switch will not work, right? unless you connect blue wire from navtool to toggle switch as another input for video source. I have the blue wire connected to reverse light accessory power in truck area.

I tried connecting camera to video 2, no camera image. Then connected camera to video 1 still no image. In between both video connections, I tried flipping toggle switch still no camera image.

I was able to contact sales at Navtool and they said to send it back for replacement :)
