Default RACETECH tow loop install

The RACETECH tow loop does not accommodate a bolt large enough to use the oem mounting location so you'll have to relocate it a small amount. Here is how it's done.



Tools:
-10mm socket
-ratchet
-extension
-Flat head screwdriver
-drill
-1/2" drill bit
-custom long piece of metal (to be discussed later)

Parts:
-RACETECH tow loop
- 1/2" grade 8 bolt, nut and washer
--------------------

Step 1: pop the hood, remove the plastic cover and the tabs holding the front bumper. All of the tabs are clearly visible.

Step 2: remove the side bolt in the fender wells holding the front bumper up and lower the front bumper. You can leave it hanging in front of the car and have plenty of room to work.

Step 3: remove the 3 10mm bolts holding the support brace on and push it forward out of the way



If you have cold air intakes like mine, remove the passenger side air filter and set it aside. You should now have a clear shot to the top of the crash bar. Look down and find the OEM tow hook mount location; test fit your tow loop so that it hangs down 1" in from the oem mount location.

Step 4: mark your location and drill your hole.



Step 5: here is where it gets nuts. To properly mount this bolt, your going to need to find a way to get the nut inside the crash bar and hold it long enough to thread your bolt in.

I used a leftover piece of support brace off my 240sx' stock bumper



I then put double sided tape in it to hold the nut and used Vaseline to get the washer to stick.



I used this style washer to really grab into the metal and hold while I impacted the bolt in



Once the car gods have shine down upon you and you get the nut on the washer, ratchet it down or impact it like I did. It makes it easier.

Here is how it should sit:



Now just put it all back together and you can call it a day.
