As for mounts, I came across a post on 350zmotoring.com where a guy Mike3348 makes mounts ( mike3348@roadrunner.com ): The Escort/Bel mounts are $23.00 ea and the Valentine V1 mounts are $33.00 ea. both shipped USPS in the US. This is the least expensive solid mount I've found & is essentially the same basic design as found on Mirror Radar Mount for the Escort or Beltronics Radar Detector. It fits my Bel mount & 370z mirror perfectly. I recommend this approach for anyone else looking to get the detector off suction cups on the windshield in an easy to do manner. Similar pics:
I bought a Blendmount mirror mount for my car. It is a perfect fit and has easy removal and replace for the detector. My 9500ix needs USB updating every few weeks (the detector has a database of speed traps and red light cams). I had the factory cord installed. In includes a mute button which my installer mounted on the dash just in front of my knee. It really is sweet.
