It was a pain going to the dealership 3 times just to get the right parts and Also the video jumps here and there instead of showing how to put it on. So I will be doing another full video hopefully in under 10 minutes to show how to fully put it on for those of us that didn't really understood the bullit's video. Nothing against him. Just want a more in detail install.

My camera keeps resetting itself so I gave up a long time ago. lol

FuszNissan 12-09-2009 09:36 PM

Looks good. So that's what they're supposed to look like. I'm impressed.

Ryan@MRWorks 12-10-2009 12:09 AM

I like the 2 x 2 looks like a diagonal line. I also love the 1 x 1 that looks like a checkered board and It comes down to how tight the weaves. Can't wait to see the images on your ride.

simota1 12-10-2009 09:24 AM

wow i cant wait till mine arrives :D

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 11:05 AM

yes over all the product is really reliable. I finished the 3M tapping and gluing the weather strips down right now. Took some pics along the way I will be posting a short video walk through of the install. And will list the parts needed as well as the serial # so you guys can walk into Nissan and ask for them without looking at the schematics for 15 minutes lol.

kdo2milger 12-10-2009 11:08 AM

look forward to the vid

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 12:06 PM

:( the freaking glue takes like 15 minutes to dry so I'm just killing time on here right now

NYBladeZ 12-10-2009 12:07 PM

looking forward to this diy

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 12:16 PM

And I would like to take a moment here if I may to thank John at SpawnAeroDynamic. He has earned my trust as I was a first time buyer from him and read negative news about his past but I said "hell I'll give him a second chance since we didn't have to pay til the product is ready." So I would like to thank him for doing this group buy, for a $100 this is worth it! takes a bit time to install but hey I'm not complaining. I want to thank him for his effort in these I know there was a 2 week delay but man they look spectacular and flawless. It does look like he put time and effort into making them instead of just mass produced them and not worry about quality control. I don't have to send him a pm or play phone tag. I am satisfy with the product the moment it came out of the shipping package. Great work John and I look forward to doing future business with you! And haters please, give the poor guy a chance, he has proved himself to be able to take 10 orders and ship them maybe not the exact day, but he did ship them all

*NOTE* John has not contacted me nor did he pay me to type this review. this is just coming from the bottom of my heart seeing how he was being flamed in the group buy thread. I felt no justice is done to him and his business. There are bumps in the road but life goes on.

phelan 12-10-2009 12:19 PM

Congrats on getting a clean set, but don't go gushing and assuming they're all flawless. I can agree though that John is quite responsive and is willing to work with customers to get things done right...

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 12:22 PM

^true I can't control the other 9 sets that are sent out. But I will leave this thread open for other 9 people to chime in once they receive theirs. And to people who just wants to openly flame John in here please save your time. I will lock this thread as soon as people who aren't in the GB starts throwing crap again.

Thanks Phelan for pointing that out. I can't speak for the other 9 sets :D

phelan 12-10-2009 12:27 PM

As another group buy person chiming in (just to put more info out there):

Yes, I got my set of B pillars.
One of them has a small defect - air bubble, top center of the right side B pillar. Other one has slight scratching due to packaging (I presume).

PM'd John, received response VERY quickly. After showing pictures, John agrees there are swirls and an air bubble; I am now expecting a replacement in the future, but delivery date is TBD. Correct me if I'm wrong, John.

edit: what the hell is this hover over for acronym business? or is that just my computer?

f&ck you caravan! :rofl2:

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 05:04 PM

Ok here is all you guys been waiting for. Complete DIY and feel free to ask questions if you have any.

**IF YOU GET SUPER GLUE TO A PLACE ON THE FRONT SIDE OF THE CF. PLEASE WIPE IT UP WITH WD-40 REALLY QUICK BEFORE IT'S BURNED INTO THE CLEAR.

FIRST OF ALL MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE PARTS
2 CF B PILLARS
SMALL SET OF FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER
LOCTITE ULTRA GEL SUPER GLUE $2 OR $3 AT TARGET OR WALMART
3M DOUBLE SIDED TAPE (HEAVY DUTY)
2 CLIPS FROM NISSAN PARTS PART#: 76988-4N00
(IF YOUR A FIRST TIME DIYER. PLEASE BUY 3 OR 4) BTW $5 BUCKS EACH. SO $20 TOTAL. DEALER WILL BS YOU SAYING IT'S $7 BUT TELL THEM YOU WANT THE COST PRICE. NOT RETAIL.
PAIR OF REALLY SHARP SCISSORS

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...0/CIMG1127.jpg

1. Remove the OEM B Pillar by opening the door and slowing just start pulling on the B Pillar. You do have to put some muscle behind them because they are pretty tough to pull out.

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...0/CIMG1106.jpg

Should look like this

REPEAT FOR PASSENGER SIDE

2. After pulling off the B Pillar, pull the 2 weather strips off of each OEM B Pillars and glue them or tape them on to the new CF B Pillar like so

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...CIMG1111-1.jpg

The one on the left has the weather strip glued. Sorry jumped the gun and lined up the passenger side too :D

3. After gluing down the weather strips, return to your car's b pillar and pop all the clips back in like so

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...CIMG1110-1.jpg

4. After you have them popped in, cut 4 strips of 3M tape and tape them together, and another set of 4, and one set of 3. After you have them cut out and taped. Tape them on to the clip's backing like so

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...0/CIMG1108.jpg
http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...0/CIMG1107.jpg

5. Remove the top red backing and line up your B pillar and press hard around those 3 clips area and peel the CF b pillar away and you'll see the 3M has now transfered onto the back of the CF b pillar showing you exactly where those clips are. remember if your facing the car, peel from your left to right.

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...0/CIMG1109.jpg

VOILA! Repeat for other side as well.

6. now go inside and sit down put on some gloves :D time for gluing. So just use a lot of glue to hold down the 3M tape to the back of the CF b pillar. here 2 quick videos

http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...CIMG1113-1.jpg

7. Let the super glue dry for about 10 min, if the sun is out you can leave them out in the sun to bake for 5 min to speed up the process. After it's dry ( I use a toothpick to test it ) You're ready to pop those bad boys on your car.

Here are the 5 part DIY in video. Sorry didn't have any hand to hold the camera during the tear down, but there are some explanation in here as well. Please don't mind my exciteness lol. AND REMEMBER TO REP POINT IF YOU FIND IT HELPFUL!

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 05:14 PM

thanks phelan. I hope you guys watch this tutorial and Bullit's tutorial together back to back while installing. both are very informational.

simota1 12-10-2009 05:50 PM

GREAT JOB jake!!!! awesome DIY very very detailed... +1 rep bro

NYBladeZ 12-10-2009 06:16 PM

you don't but I think honestly it looks really good. It's not hard. the weather stripping took about 5 min max to do. just put the glue on the stripping and wait 3 or 4 minutes for the glue to activate and stick it on. It makes it sit a bit flush I think.

phelan 12-10-2009 06:22 PM

i'd keep it on too lol

bullitt5897 12-10-2009 07:28 PM

Def do the weather strips! or you will see fresh paint at the top of the b-pillar. Great DIY Jake! I am glad my process worked well for you lol it took me nearly 5-6 design tries before I realized hey the factury units are pulled tight and decided not to just try and stick the B-pillar to the car but let the plugs pull them tight to the car :D lol

Again, great Job and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine! welcome to an exclusive club :D

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 07:42 PM

^ thanks bullit :D like I said I watched your tutorial like 15 times before I attempted mine. Just wish it had more details to help so I decided to write one in depth with parts and everything. But yeah without you I'd still be going uhh...I just 3M tape? lol

SpawnAeroJohn 12-10-2009 08:06 PM

JakeZ34 12-10-2009 11:17 PM

Rickey89 12-15-2009 02:59 AM

just got my b-pillars yesterday, i just got back from the local walmart and bought 3m tape /mequiars wax and some microfiber towels because i will be installing my pillars soon and seeing as pics will be included im gonna wax my z for your viewing pleasure.

by the way the pillars look sick! no visible imperfections and the weave is very nice.

you can tell john (spawn aero) didnt cheap out on the clearcoat either so they wont be yellowing any time soon if ever!

The Weapon 12-15-2009 12:01 PM

WTF I was number 11 on the list and Paid back on the 28th the same day Rickey89 did and still have not received a shipping conformatoin. Dude. Spawn I've been more than patient. The last update i had from Spawn was "Going out Saturday"

I asked for a refund and he said I would have to wait for that too so I told him nevermind I'll just wait for the pillars.

shumby 12-15-2009 01:08 PM

^^^^ SpawnAero strikes again. What up with this SpawnAero just more of your coustomer service.

The more you type Spawn Aero in the thread the more chances that it will be picked up by google. And the more people we can warn about Spawn Aero

NYBladeZ 12-15-2009 01:23 PM

^^moron...last spawn update was that we should have tracking info Tues Wed

shumby 12-15-2009 01:29 PM

JakeZ34 12-15-2009 02:17 PM

seriously guys I said no flaming them in here unless you bought the product and aren't satisfied with it, so please stop the hate in here unless you were in the GB and has not received your product, or else this thread would be locked too. I did a nice DIY for people who bought them to share their thoughts and make installation easier, not to let people start talking about spawnaero for another 3 pages. If you are not installing the pillars or need to discuss the pillars with other users please stop the hating in this thread.

You asked for a refund so you are sent to the back of the line, kiddo. :icon14:
