Hey so I'm a newb, and I have the harness/fog light from the Z-store, how do I wire it through the arm rest like you did, and then where does the positive wire tap into.....i.e. which one is accessory power (+)? Is it one of the wires tucked away at the bottom underneath the AC? I managed to follow the other DIY about getting the dash and radio off, but got stuck at the faceplate to the radio/ac....mine won't budge and I'm afraid I'll break it? I think I removed all the screws. Please help.

I took off the center console and tapped the yellow wire that goes to the cigarette lighter. It's accessory so it will only give power while the car is on. Also that system to the lighter is made for additional powered items so adding a light won't be an issue.

Lol you just made me realize there was a second cigarette lighter under the little plastic change thing. I was like oh shat look at that. All this time I thought the only one was under the glove, and would bitch everytime I had to change out devices. Hahaha thanks dude. I got it to work w/ you guys' help. :icon14:

Check your Private Message Inbox :hello:. I'm VERY happy with mine. I used the fog light almost everyday during the snow/blizzard condition last few weeks.

I'm glad it worked out for you. My installer (Matt) tapped into the Red accessory wire from the head unit.

I just installed my fog light and harness and it works great. Did u guys disconnect the battery before doing the install? I
asking because after I plugged my battery back up my windows have been acting up. Usually when u open n close the door the window moves down and then back up when you close the door. Now it goes down but doesn't go back up. So if I repeatedly open n close my door my window gets lower n lower. Help please.

Window Issue. Anyone else?

Just search the forums for window reset and do what the first link says to reset. Whatever u do don't take it to the dealer like I did the first time and have them rip u off. Very easy fix.

AK,
I bought this harness and am going to do the install myself but am a little confused on exactly where the hot lead was picked up in the dash board. Is there a red lead wire available in the dash or what? The picture isn't close enough for me to see exactly where the wire is picked up from. thanks as always a great jog

After reading the above posts, I just used the yellow and black wire to the second power outlet and put in a molex connector to attach the harness. Worked out well and looks just like AK's installation. By the way the relay used in my harness was Nissan part number 25230-7996A. The harness makes the install much simpler.

Me too. I can find the light on their site but no switch or harness. Thanks!

CWofRR 05-04-2010 03:42 PM

whats the difference between the one you got and the jspec one?

Joka4411 05-09-2010 12:32 AM

Nice job, but can anyone please tell me the reason for this fog like? i hope i wont have to drive backwards in the fog.

CBRich 05-09-2010 07:15 AM

It is a brighter light than the standard tails to help people see you on foggy or rainy days. It keeps you from getting rear ended.

TreeSemdyZee 05-09-2010 08:54 AM

Same reason as front fog lights. It sits low to be better visible in the fog and rain.

LunaZ 05-14-2010 06:56 AM

My only complaint with this setup is that there is no indication as to whether the light is on or off.
Other than that, I love how factory it looks.
