It was expensive and kind of a pain. Although I really didn’t want to cut into my harness. It’s still a virgin and I learned from past experiences on a previous vehicle I modified. Plus it was killing me inside that all the wiring was right there.

So after many years I'm finally getting around to installing the fog light and just when I think I'm almost finished, something comes up that I just can't figure out.

I'm using the harness from the Z Store and I purchased the iJDMToy 3 in 1 fog lamp: fog lamp, reverse light and brake light. I wired the harness and switch in, ran all the lines to the trunk, tied the ground and power wire in to the same lines on the fog lamp. The switch works great. It turns the fog lamp on and off with no issues. I then spliced the reverse lamp in to the reverse light harness and this is where it gets weird. The reverse light won't come on unless I turn on the fog lamp via the switch. They are supposed to work independently of one another, but they aren't. If I disconnect the fog lamp leads from the switch harness and ground the lamp in the trunk, the reverse light comes on when the car is shifted in to reverse. Its as if the switch is controlling power for the entire lamp assembly, even though it has separate power leads for each light.

Anyone have any suggestions on this?

One other thing I forgot to mention. The light on the switch is always illuminated, even if the fog light is switched off. Is this normal?
