1. How do the wires soldered to the resistor stay in the holes in the plastic plug ? Jam it in there and tape it ?

2. I am not sure if the plug in the floor is a male or female, have not taken seats out yet...but anyway, is it possible to get the correct plastic plug with two wires coming out of it that will just snap into the connector from the floor and then solder the resistor to to the two wires coming form the other end ? Taking the one from the stock seats is not an option as I am selling them.

I'm a knucklehead ... I know, but any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I am at the same position as you are, I know that the plugs coming from the floor are male type.

So, because I don't want to cut the plug from the factory seat either, I was looking to buy the similar femal plug that is under our factory seat but I can not found it anywhere?!?

I have not found anything yet ... read about a Nismo Bypass Harness for this back in the 350 days but I think it stopped working in 2007 and can't find the part anywhere. Kind of pricey bypass plugs I have found, at like $70 per side, but I know it is cheaper to make one. I don't understand how to get the two wires that would come out of the floor connector to stay in there.

Finally made use of this yesterday when I installed the drivers side seat, worked perfectly. Will be tackling the other seat and weight sensor next week.
Repped.

Hmmm.
This worked great on the drivers side, however when i did the passenger side too, now the light won't go off. Have tried many times, also rechecked all the connections. Do you have to do the weight sensor as well to get the light to go out?

Yes. If you do the reset sequence, when you are done you will notice the dash indicator blinks two times slow, followed by 5 fast flashes. This pattern indicates the weight sensor is malfunctioning (in our case becuase it ain't hooked up) ... I am not a rocket scientist but everything I have read would indicate all air bags are functioning properly except for the passenger side. Not sure yet how I am going to fix that.

Hey guys,
I own a 08 G37S Coupe...
I've recently installed Sparcos on driver and passenger sides.
I used 4.7ohm resistors for the airbag connectors and removed the occupancy weight sensor from the stock passenger seat and connected it back to the passenger side Sparco seat.
I did the reset procedure and the airbag light does blink a lot slower than before but it still won't go away... What should i do??

martin82 07-16-2012 07:08 PM

it's because you don't have the weight sensor on the passenger side I believe...maybe set it so its always on....? I will be on the same boat soon.

I removed the weight sensor and installed it onto the sparco passenger seat as well as connecting it back into its connector.

The airbag light (on the dash) is still on but blinks at a slower pace after the reset procedure. Apparently its in Diagnostic Mode according to the OP and the service manual but how do I get rid of it??

martin82 07-16-2012 07:19 PM

hmmm i wouldn't know until I do mine in the next few weeks....

If the sensor is always on also seat bet light should be on as well right?

Its been a PITA with this airbag light. I can't get rid of it.
Seat belts (female ends) were transferred over from the stock seats to my Sparcos.
The seat belt light is a different light than the airbag light on the dash. I beleive... But everything is connected...

Does anyone know if you can buy the finnished set-up (plug and play) instead of the DIY (stripping, soldering, etc.)?

12nismo 07-18-2012 04:00 PM

I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone sells this? \/

martin82 07-18-2012 04:08 PM

you can just solder longer leads and plug it straight to the plug or even slide the resister into the harness and just tape it up...

martin82 07-18-2012 04:57 PM

has anyone measured resistance on the passenger weight sensor? I will be installing both racing seats so I will need to figure something out here. I prob would just like to wire it so the air bag thinks there's always a passenger and not transfer the weight sensor (needs removal of seat) per the service manual.
