All "yes"s for my Z. Heck, even for for Civic!

I would rather detail my car on a Friday night than go on a date.....:/

I had a 2005 Acura TL and was black, I loved it clean and hated it when it got dirty. I' spent many days cleaning the vehicle but now that I have a Gunmetal Z love the fact that it looks clean even when it's not so I thought I had OCD but I don't ...BTW I also had a Jeep Rubicon and a FJ Cruisser and both looked great with mud on them, weird uh?...can't wait to see how it looks this Winter as I'm planning on driving it...pics to come :driving:

Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Pad can be used on glass, chrome, vinyl, fiberglass, paint and clearcoats—100% safe when used with soapy water.

This might sound a little skeptical but trust me it works! When it comes to getting bugs off of your Z, use a dryer sheet (like the one you throw in the dryer with your clothes). You would think it would scratch the paint, leave swirl marks, but it doesn't and the bugs come right off with no problems. Just be sure to dip it in some water first. I've been doing this for years with many different colored cars. As far as the clean OCD thing goes, my ole lady tells me all the time "I wish you cared as much about me as you do your car" and "i wish I as much attention as your car gets" haha

I clean/dust my Z off every day with a california duster, and clean my rims and apply armourall to the tires daily... LOL.. The Z is probably the second most expesive thing we own, gotta take care of it.

Ocd

I'd forgotten what a nut job I am around my vehicles.
Until I got my Z three weeks ago I hadn't owned a car for 15 years. I had my last car 7 years and when I sold it you'd be hard pressed to believe it wasn't fresh off the lot. The guy who bought it had been looking 6 months for one until he saw mine. Sold.
In 3 weeks I've spent a pile of dough on cleaning products, (thanks Ryan) bought a set of WeatherTech mats, done an oil change (at 100 miles) and washed my car at least 4 times....once despite it being clean. Hey, there was dust on it from sitting all week.
It is not a daily driver and my mindset is still 'I don't own a car' so I spend far more time cleaning it than driving it. I was out at midnight last Saturday night polishing the windshield, hatch glass and inside glass for two hours.
I can take transit and be at work in 10 minutes. Why take a chance on something happening to my Z by taking it into work?
In a couple of months I'll put her away under not 1, but 2 covers for 6 months.
If I'm out and get caught in the rain, so be it, but if it's raining I'll never take her out in it. Good thing it'll be stored during our winters. All it does is rain.
One thing I can say about the OCD.....the Z is a damn sight easier and quicker to keep clean than Harleys. Glad those are all gone.

I have always taken care of my vehicles, but I do not consider myself OCD about them. My last vehicle was 8 years old and had 120,000 miles on it. Besides a couple minor issues it looked nearly brand new (and this was a truck that I USED)

I wash my Z about once per week, and it stays in the garage when at home. I do daily drive my Z, but I have a short commute so that helps.

What kills my Z on the cleanliness is that in the spring, summer and fall I tend to spend all weekend at the marina and my Z is parked under some trees. On a typical Sunday afternoon my Z is dirty/dusty and I am tired so I don't bother washing it until one evening during the week.

Right now, my Z has rain spots from a shower Monday, and the interior is dirty. I really should clean it, but we're supposed to get more rain today.

I let my camry get messy with starbucks cups and receipts. I haven't let a single molecule of garbage rest in my new baby.

I had to park the z outside for 3 days while doing tranny work on the Subaru, after I pulled it in, the G/F asked me if I "apologized" to the car.......:ugh2: I smiled, and told her I was going to "massage" the z with my microfiber mitt and some shampoo to make up for it:tiphat:
I've had her for just over 3 years, and shes remarkably clean. ALWAYS!

I wash and dust and vacuum the inside of my Z at least once every two weeks. My interior looks like it was just installed at the factory.

My friend replaced EVERY BOLT on his mk IV supra. He even bought 2 WHOLE INTERIORS. He defines OCD more than anyone I know.

Limeybastard 09-24-2014 11:37 PM

It is funny. I recently did my first "proper" detail since April 2014 and have been OCD since. I am sure once it rains and gets dirty then I wont be OCD until the next time I have her detailed. Thats how I roll I guess.

kenchan 09-25-2014 11:26 AM

if u guys are considering yourselves 'OCD' because you're washing and waxing the car all the time, then you're not OCD, you're just doing it wrong. :icon17:

OCD is when you have another car(s) to use during the weekdays and not get your hobby car dirty, dinged at all from the start.

No. Drive that bitch!
