Default Junkman Discusses Sealant/Wax Applications - Including the Hype!

In this video, I go into a detailed discussion about sealants, the application of the sealant that I'm using and the hype associated with waxes and their claim to make your paint shine. Wax is a protectant. That is the only thing that I use wax for. I get all the shine that I'm going to get out of my paint from polishing it. In this video, I start with my paint perfectly polished and then I add the sealant. As you will see, there will be no difference with the before and after shots once I'm done. This proves my point. Polishing creates the shine in your paint and wax protects the shine you get from polishing.

Sit back and be amazed as everything you've heard about waxes gets debunked.

Hi Junkman2008,

My brother, you are really good at what you do. As I have stated before, I think that you ought to write a book about automotive detailing. I am fairly sure that there are book publishers that would work with you on this task. You have all the right terminology and explanation to everything having to do with automotive detailing.

In summary, as always, you have excellent videos that are so straight forward to understand.

spryor

P.S. Have you ever given seminars about automotive detailing in Memphis, Tennessee? If not, you ought to stop by one day, like during the spring time. The weather is always beautiful during this time of year for automotive detailing.

Thanks for the comments! I am flattered!

I have given a bunch of seminars but nothing in Memphis. I get requested out by a lot of car clubs so if one calls from Memphis and flies me in, I'll be there!

Yo junkman,
I was watching your novice video and I seen you point out what the flashing of polish
Looks like.
What happens if you work the product past its flashing point?
Does it then just become a waste of your time or does it cause damagea? Does it
Do anything at all?

Thanks for the great videos

I distinctly say in that video EXACTLY what happens. If you overwork the polish, you create micro-marring damage. If you under work the polish, you just waste polish.

Thanks junkman! you're the man bro. I look forward to more videos.
I think I might be guilty of overworking the product at times. I've got a lot to learn.
Thanks for teaching.

This is the deck lid of the car I'm currently working on.
How would you rate this jumkman? Look ok or does it need some more
Work?
It was taken with an iphone 4s. i dont really have anything else to use and its about the best Picture i could take.
I worked on the car for about 8 hours yesterday and most of the car looks about like this. There are some places
i think im going to have to redo.

This shot is just polished. No was or protection.

Thanks

Looks pretty perfect to me. If the entire car looks this way, I would say that you have some outstanding paint.

Awesome, there are some places I'm going to look at again but for the most part
This is the way the car looks.
Don't let anyone tell you your videos aren't a big help. I've learnt what I know from
Watching. Looking forward to the next ones.

I get very little flack from anyone about my videos. About the only people who want to find something to criticize are a few so called 'professional' detailers. But you know why they do that so I made a special video for them...
