Winter prep
Just a quick post, and a quick wash and prep of my 370z before I put the car cover on for the winter.
The usual Sonax shots, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7165/6...7674d391_b.jpg IMG_4405 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7146/6...a643f5c6_b.jpg IMG_4411 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7017/6...de065de2_b.jpg IMG_4412 by J M Gale, on Flickr Getting my foam gun ready. Just water and Adams car wash, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7151/6...c94e3b4c_b.jpg IMG_4413 by J M Gale, on Flickr Foamed. Still haven't figured out how to get the heavy coat of foam... http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6040/6...b1986b40_b.jpg IMG_4414 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7033/6...2fc60ce2_b.jpg IMG_4415 by J M Gale, on Flickr Checking the temp. The temp was dropping fast, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7168/6...32796fbc_b.jpg IMG_4416 by J M Gale, on Flickr A quick snack break... the celery was gone first, lol, http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6111/6...f4c98f87_b.jpg IMG_4428 by J M Gale, on Flickr The car is a 2009 model originally bought early 2010. I just purchased it end of August this year. It only has 6000 miles on it. I don't think it's ever been clayed because this is the results from half of the roof, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7022/6...5c2a52bf_b.jpg IMG_4425 by J M Gale, on Flickr Im saving a full correction for the spring when weather warms up a bit. I really just wanted to make sure it was clean before the car cover went on. After the clay I did a coat of MPL, Sonus on the tires, and wiped down the engine, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7005/6...0787d850_b.jpg IMG_4437 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7159/6...0253e4f7_b.jpg IMG_4436 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7031/6...d124b845_b.jpg IMG_4441 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6039/6...f12e1a93_b.jpg IMG_4435 by J M Gale, on Flickr Here she is covered up. I bought the cover from CoverQuest. They are very good as far as shipping to Canada goes. I opted for the Noah fabric even though it will only be stored indoors. I'm very happy with the fit and finish of the cover, http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7006/6...1e184f03_b.jpg IMG_4421 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7012/6...4bdac6a2_b.jpg IMG_4420 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7029/6...611e2c1d_b.jpg IMG_4419 by J M Gale, on Flickr http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6045/6...fd774b50_b.jpg IMG_4443 by J M Gale, on Flickr Thanks for looking! |

I am planning on putting her to sleep this weekend. The temperature is supposed to be about 60° and sunny, so this will NOT be a pleasant experience. You are correct that it will be a LONG A$$ winter. Nighty, night good friend!:hello:

P.S. Do you happen to live near North Olmsted? |
I live on the east side in Mayfield Heights. Not too far away.

I'll be doing the same myself soon... the silver cleans up nice, best part about that color. I don't have your foam gun but the one I have has different selectors with different size holes that allow more or less foam out... you should have something similiar.
|
Also more soap or less water in the solution will increase foam too. I do approx 50/50 and get a good coat.

Yeah, my foamer has the selectors, I've tried them out with some success. I think I'm not using enough soap, only ~1 oz. plus water. I'll try doing 4+ oz of soap plus water and see how that goes. |
Looking nice and clean....I'm probably looking to drive everyday other than snow days here in NY with the harsh winters.
|
Nice work, looks like what I did before I tucked the Z away for the winter.
|
Some things I don't miss since moving south. Selling my snow blower and putting my car up for the winter.
