I was wondering how does the yellow pad stack up versus the green pad? does it have anywhere near as much 'cutting' ability?

I'm about to start my black SUV but its in pretty rough shape, and from the test spot I did it seems the clear is very hard...I'm debating on ordering the green combo for this one and was curious about how these pads stack up.

Thanks!

He said he was using an orange pad which is a good sort of middle of the road cutting pad... not to aggressive, but you can use a higher cutting polish to help out.

Typically the yellow pad is rather aggressive... you might want to get one just in case you need it, but more than likely an orange with either what he is using or another medium to heavy compound.

It also depends on the brand... I think most brands of pads use the typical yellows, orange, blue, white, black, green, etc. I believe meguiars uses different colors however.

I haven't personally tried comparing the yellow and green pads with Severe Swirl Remover so I can't speak as for the results personally. That would be a good question to hit Adam up on at the warehouse. The number is 866-965-0400. He would definitely be able to answer that question as he knows the source of those pads. I can say that it definitely won't hurt to try the yellow pad if you have one. Just make sure that you follow it with the Swirl & Haze Remover and the orange pad. Adam has color coded the pads to his polishes so that you don't have to guess what to use on what pad. That's what makes this so easy to use and learn, without all the confusion you may have with other brands.

Man come on... the thickness of the paint has nothing to do with swirls and how much correction it would have needed.

Okay, now you really just showed your lack of understanding with this stuff. I'll leave it at that and get the thread back on topic. Good day my friend. :tiphat:

lol ok man... just keep spreading some of your lack of knowledge... like you're comment that a paint should only have to be corrected one time... ask PRO detailers that question and their all going to tell you otherwise... but whatever makes you sleep well at night.

Let's just try this since we aren't going to agree on detailing most of the time.

Junkman, are you a boxing fan? lol

I don't know anything about today's fighters. My era was over when Tyson lost. I haven't cared about boxing since. I was not only a fan, I even did body guard work for him. He was nowhere near as crazy as people think.

I always felt sorry for Mike in all honesty. I think that he just needed help and never got the right kind... a shame really, but still... he'll be in the record books for life, he's got much to be proud of.

I think most of what he did was all hype as well. He just always came across to me as a very lonely guy with a lot of fake friends who took his money.

My Mother ran into Ali once ... literally... she was late for a flight (my Father was a gospel singer and she was headed out to where he was singing) and she was sort of hurrying along and ran right into him. She said she looked up and there he was with 2 bodyguards... he just said "Let the lady go by boys" ... she said "he was a good lookin' fella" lol.
