Yellow stain on paint

Just picked up my brilliant silver 370z 3 weeks ago. I havn't gotten a single chip or scratch on it yet. I'm washing my car today and come across a small, thin yellow/brownish streak on the hood maybe an inch or two long. It's slightly hard, so I gently wipe it off as I'm washing the car. I've gotten these several times before, but have caught them and just wiped them off with a damp cloth.

When the car was dry, I noticed there was a faint yellow stain that remained. Running my finger over it I could feel where the residue was, as if it had etched itself into the clearcoat already. I tried claying the area, but had no luck. After doing some research online I figure it's either tree pollen, or bee droppings.

This had to have happened within the last day or two at the most, and besides the commute to work, the car is totally garaged for the entire day so I'm having a really hard time believing it could have etched itself into the paint.

Any other suggestions on how to remove it? Thanks for the help.

its not coming off

thinking of getting my car recleared or painted. stupid nissan paint!

Have you tried a little paint correction with a PC (or some such thing) and some compound?

Try a very mild compound. My paint is funny, when I bought it there was a fault in the paint on the hood about the size of a silver dollar, that would not come off, I had the dealer make note of it, just in case the clear failed in that area in the future. However the spot went away and has never come back. Also on the front fender arch there was an area where it look liked the mettalic flake settled, and gave the apperence of there being a crease in the panel. That too, went away. I'm not complaining that my imperfections went away, but this paint is really strange

First don't polish it out your self, even if your a great detailer. This is the dealer/Nissan's problem that they can resolve for you. I have Silver also and know what your talking about. I had to have the paint fixed on my hatch for that. I also had some on the hood as well.
From many discussions with the manager at a dealer I know very well, what he said is it is left over residue from the protective film (glue that adheres it) that they install during shipment, and that gets "baked" per say into the clear. He said it is very common on, you got it, the silver cars and mostly only seen between the Z's and GT-R's. (I have personally seen this on a show room GT-R as well)
Try and get the dealer to cover it, don't get the answer "well you can try and buff it out" Yeah OK , and what if you mess it up? Not covered... Dealer/Nissan should cover this issue. sometimes a light polish can do it or like my hatch, it needed re sprayed but put it on their dime, not your own.

I do have the baked in glue though right underneath the rear hatch window. I will run it by and see what they say though.

Just worries me about repainting it. I have never seen a paint job from a dealer that didn't have debris in the paint or some other issue. Not to mention them tearing into the car to do it.

Hopefully they can polish it out. We'll see.

Yep thats what I had but it eventually went away. I even noticed it when it was in the showroom

No offense to any dealers out there, but I've spent many many hours correcting their buffer marks and dealer installed swirls on paint. The Z I got was "detailed" by a shop the dealer uses and in the sunlight there were swirls and buffer marks literally all over the car. So if I were you I would attempt to get the marks off yourself since you know you will be much more careful than any dealer.
