Default Hydrosilex - Ceramic Coating

So after getting bombarded by social media ads for the product I decided to give it a try, after all the Z needed a clay, polish and sealant. Plus this product wasn’t yet reviewed on the forum...so here goes the disclaimer, this is the lazy man’s ceramic coating and likely doesn’t compare to professional product!

Bought the 16oz of Recharge (ceramic coat itself) and the 16oz of Rewind for the wax removal / surface prep (total cost of $55 on Amazon). The hard part is prepping the paint via wash, clay and polish. Once that is done, you use Rewind (which goes on like quick detailer) and then apply the Recharge ceramic (spray on and wipe clean), which couldn’t be easier.

The paint prep beforehand really pays off just like other ceramics

Afterwards the paint is super slick and buttery, shine is great on the pearl white and has shown good initial hydrophobic effects. Will update here as I go and revert with how it performs. Will be a high bar to “never wax again” as the ads say

Applied to paint, window and wheels (to help with brake dust)

Now the pics!

Great write up and looks shiny.. subbed for feedback. Just did the same on my Q and the application process is really easy after all the prep like you stated.

Great review. After hearing people talk so much about ceramic coating and not having looked into it myself, I always assumed there was a lot more to it than this. Keep us updated on how it holds up

Just following up on this product, after a week

They advise that you should apply a second coat 5-7 days after the initial product is applied to add an additional layer, so that is what I did today. Over the week and about 100 miles of driving, the slight dust on the car could be gently brushed off the still slick and smooth surface of the paint. Also the brake dust on the wheels was so easy to quickly brush off with a microfiber towel. Cannot speak yet for the post rain or wash performance, but I am pretty pleased on the the dry performance and continued shine.

If the product can make the wheel cleaning this easy every time it is worth it on a stand-alone basis

It took under 10 mins to apply the second coat and again was impressed with the finish. Pics again for fun!

Updated with a video to show how the water (and dirt) comes off after the first wash

Pretty pleased with the hydrophobic protection!

So it seems like this is a less effort / more often application scenario?

Anyone else try this?

I do love my car, but would love to reduce the amount of hours buffing crap out every few months (it's now garaged again so that's helping).

Okay so after reading extensively, I think something like Cquartz is a better buy, so pulled the trigger but thank you for posting this as we all need to keep these cars looking good!
