Default Can I clean my wheel hub like this?

Hey, just wondering if its ok to clean my wheel hubs and lug bolts with a wire brush and brake cleaner. Im putting new wheels on tomorrow and have heard i should clean the threads and hubs for better and safer contact. Wanted to know if a wire brush is too rough for cleaning those. Thanks

A wire brush is perfectly OK on the studs. Same with the brake cleaner. Do not use either one on aluminum, plastic, etc.
