Anyone in Canada thinking of selling their Z?

Let me know if you're thinking about selling your Z. Either post all of the info including all of the mods (I prefer stock cars), location and the price your thinking or you can just PM me.

I guess I should be a little more specific. The car needs to be a sport with the big brakes. 6 speed. Nav isn't important.

I'd sell, but I'm far from stock. :D

I appreciate that. The reason why I want a stockish car because we all have our different tastes when it comes to modding. In your case, the only mod I would be interested in is the turbo kit and lowering springs. Everything else would have to be stock.

Selling a modded car is tough and you only get around 30% back on your mods not including labour. So if you have Sasha's kit ($7000) plus lowering springs ($250), you'll only get around $2500 back when you sell your car. Right now the average car is listed for $28000 and will probably sell for $26000; add your 2500 and you have a 28500 car. It sucks I know. I've been modding cars probably a lot longer than most of you and I always take a bath.

That's just the reality.

haha no way I wouldn't let my 40th go for $28k :shakes head:

maybe a high mileage base Z, but not a loaded Z you are looking at least $30-32K+ for a decent Z with sport package!

not to mention some other the cheaper ones I have gone to look at with a buddy, he too thinks he will get an awesome Z for <$30K on the road taxes paid etc….. but every time we have gone the car was seriously neglected. the one looked like someone took a grater to the seats! :shakes head:

LMBmikeZ 02-14-2014 09:48 AM

looking at auto trader all the <$30k look pretty rough :ugh2:

one guy is only looking for $18K it's auto and his pics show it cover in snow :shakes head: I know you want MT though. but I bet you also want one in good shape to start with no?

couple others around $27-29K say they include winter tires so yo know it has been abused with winter driving :shakes head: they should be asking the city to be reimbursed for their snow plow services :icon17:

I totally agree. A 40th Anniversary car is very expensive and in my eyes, not worth the premium to me. Same with the Nismo cars. There are a bunch of cars in Alberta in the high 20's forsale currently. They are low milage 09/10's. I have patience in my old age.

:iagree: Patience will be key in getting what you want for the right price

you should consider bringing one up from the states much cheaper down there

With the exchange it will cost me 30% more to my door so a 25k US car will almost be 32k all said and done. Trust me. I've looked into it and I have imported before.

In your old age you also come across a bit dickish. Not to sound like a **** :tiphat:

Galeforce I can promise you knows about deprecaition especially when adding mods to a car. Infact I bet you the majority of the guys on here know that they will not even get even close to as much back as they paid. Thats why you see partouts and then the car is sold. I know most guys here who have a Z have been in the game a long time, this car for the post part is not some 15K starter car.

Also id say by the time you get out the door with a car your going to be mid 30's for a car with under 30,000 kms. A majority of them listed that I found with a quick search was around 32K from businesses. There is one for 30K right now that is not to bad and could be a nice car.

Anyways thats just my .02.

Ill sell you mine for $55,000 :happydance:

No worries. I'm looking at that one in Calgary as well.

I'm local to Edmonton and know Sasha personally (Boosted Perfomance). I'm not new to modding cars. For 55k I'll get back into Supra's and get a minty mint one that puts out 800whp with probably less K than your boosted 370z.

I'm just being realistic and know what the cars are worth. You can ask whatever you like for your car but the buyer always dictates the worth.

Oh absolutely, the price I listed was fictional. I dont think Ill ever sell the car. Hell if were going that route tho you could get yourself into a 5-600whp civic and go even faster than a 100k gtr. Power (or more accurately speed) vs cost is something that everyone talks about but if it mattered all that much we would be driving civics around.

Hell if you want a 800whp you could get a mint RHD one for much less than 55K. But again your not in it for purely the power vs cost side of things. Then again you could spend 30K+ on a NSX that is more show than go.

I agree completely with you that the buyer dictates the worth.

Goodluck with the search, I do think that white one is a good buy if the buyer is not hiding anything about the car. Sounds like ill be seeing you around sooner or later.
