General Chat Vancouver - July, August, September

This thread should make it easier for everyone to chat on 1 thread about whatever instead of catching up on a handful. This should also help the other threads stay on topic.

How many ppl have the blackvue camera. With 4 models to pick from, I'm having a hard time figuring out which one to buy. Wondering if I should buy 2... 1 for front and 1 for rear...

I'd like it to look oem-ish...

Here's the link.

Blackbox

Oh... and that smell... it's coming from my trunk...
My trunk is in a million pieces right now!!!

Hey. Can you guys pm me you numbers. It was too hot and too much work to get it last time!!!

Cafiax 07-09-2012 03:29 PM

I am thinking about getting a passport 9500ix. How difficult is it to wire it into the homelink mirror so it turns on with ignition? does it come with a wiring kit?

That was the one I got I think last or 2 years ago. Endless beeping machine. Anyways I haven't had a chance to install in home link mirror, but I think they also sell home link mirror with passport in it.

Or I think future shop can help you harness it so that it looks clean

Blackbox is sponsoring the Poker Run this year and supplying us with some of the more popular models to raffle off.

I went 2 years ago. It was alright. Lots of cars. But not alot of niiiiiiice cars. I think our Z/G group would be one of the nicer cars.

hyunsoo1803 07-13-2012 05:53 PM

If its an annual thing from revscene its alright. lots and lots of hondas though. some are nice. it would be good if we could all meet up before and roll in together. there is always subaru group bmw group etc but jever a nissan. g z should be crazy.

Yeah! I'm definitely down for rolling in together :) I'm sure I can get my girlfriend or her dad to bring their Z as well. Last year I think the Mazda group numbers beat Honda's lol, I was in a civic last year and our numbers were really disappointing :(

It was actually fun! Want me to let you know when attending track events? Me and dev could probably give you good route to get ready for track events now :tiphat:

definately! :) I'll start looking for an oil cooler/brake pads. How did the stock brakes hold up?

There is a good pads for sale in parts for sale section.

I have sport package brakes with stop tech rotors and project mu pads.

Unfortunately any hard driving results in brake fading I think, which had happened to me in my last session.

Dev on the other hand I think he was ok because he had ss brakelines.

I might be attending the one on aug 2nd depending on school schedule. :roflpuke2:

Mmmm I need new tires too. What about suspension. Are you guys using KW suspension? With my spacers I think fender rub would be an issue too. Damn a lot of things to buy.

i think most Z around is on kw v3 or t1r

you can look in suspension section, there should be someone with spacer and lowered. you can always run neg camber to not rub!

btw michelin pss are great tires. my buddy just got it installed at drivehard
im running continental DW which is very comfortable for daily even with kw v3 at stiffest

both are quieter than stock re050 and comfortable. but DW is more comfortable. PSS is more responsive on corners

DW were pretty good on track. Their side walls are a bit too soft so there is a lot of body roll.
PSS are very good on track. BUT i've seen a gt3 on PSS tires after 2 track day... the tire were completely gone. The tires are still at drive hard performance.

that being said, i like the way that PSS handles. and gt3 is a faster car and i would imagine the driver being a good driver and can push his car to the limits so his tires were gone in 2 track days

Yeah...if you're buying for track, I'd probably recommend against the PSS. Apparently they can't handle very high temps and can chunk off.

Someone here need some awesome street tires, though! Lol
