Got my windows tinted yesterday - but now when my Z is parked the light with the "Key in the Car" flashes every 2 secs. Doesn't matter if I lock or unlock the doors, but the light goes out when I start it. I don't remember this happening before, but does anyone have any idea ? I also changed 1 battery in 1 fob - still no difference. Weird?

And can someone recommend a good alignment shop with a low ramp?

I don't remember off the top of my head. That was my first and only pass of the year. I know I could probably do better. I do have coils on the way which should help big time for launching. I am getting sick of the squat that this car has with the power. I hate that mushy feeling it has when you pin it. Hopefully they will be here by the end of the week.

Which also means if anyone in Edmonton wants a set of used good eibach lowering springs just let me know! They do look awesome.

I took my car to Erickson Nissan downtown. Ron the mechanic works on my car and my brothers car. He's the only one allowed. He knows his stuff. I would recommend taking it to him.

What year is your car? if it has the steering wheel lock I would strongly suggest disabling that as this has happened to guys in the past with failing locks.

2010.

Mitco39 06-25-2014 01:37 PM

Thats where I would look first then.

Hey Mitch - my 370 was built I believe in April/2010 - been reading some threads on this - they say 2009's and some 2010 can have this.

Removed the Fuse, found this on Youtube:

370z Steering lock fix - YouTube

Does not solve the flashing dash light when parked though :(.
But still shouldn't need a tow to the dealer, hope they have a fix. Odd this would happen right after a tint job.

I am guessing they unplugged a key antenna when they pulled the plastic panels to get to the window. If I recall there is one in the kick panels behind the seats right below that small quarter window. Maybe its the systems way of telling you to plug it back in. Ill look in the FSMs now.

Mitco39 06-26-2014 09:29 AM

Its a bit hard to see. But number 10 is the one I am talking about. To do a proper tint job I would imagine they pulled this panel to get at the window. Im willing to bet they didnt plug in one or more of the key antennas.

Mitch - I am gonna call the tint shop - and see if he remembers - cause the next thing is going to be the dealership. Man how do you know this stuff? U da man! thanks for your efforts...!

Question for you gents, so my car has 1000 kms so it's brand spanking new. I put ichiba 20mm bolt on spacers in the front and 25mm in the rear, at first I installed without hub ring and there was a wobble in the steering wheel at about 70k very slight but more prominent doing 110-120 on the henday. So I put hub rings in and still there's a wobble less prominent, but still wobbles. What would cause this? A warped spacer?

Sleek Z, I would recheck the torque on all the bolts and pop the center caps on the wheels when installing them so you can see that the hub rings are seating into the wheel properly. That said, the only spacers I would ever run (and have used) are the hub centric stud replacement ones

Edconline, thanks for the reply I'll have to take a look.
