Well I was going to store it next week but today I found a wear/tear mark on the roof

Took it straight to the dealership and spoke to the head guy :argue: first he said we will take it to our detailers and get it patched I'm like :bs: so he took pictures and said he is going to contact Nissan Canada and see what can be done.
I am thinking new top and have to fixed before storeage I don't want to deal with this in the spring and with my luck it will be a new guy there that has no idea of the issue...

There have been threads here that have said that the ECU keeps it memory with the battery disconnected. Your tune should be safe. Just to be sure, check a few threads on here about it.

As far as maintaining my battery, I bought this when it was on sale for 40% off.Motomaster Eliminator Intelligent Battery Charger 6A/4A/2A | Canadian Tire

No, I would lose the adjustments that were made when I had my Uprev tune done if i lost the battery. Yes, the ecu would do a relearn to bring the engine management back to its original settings. But that kind of defeats the Uprev tune, don't you think?

You will not lose your Uprev tune if you disconnect your battery. The stock ECU file/tune is replaced when you get an Uprev with a new tuned "ROM" file.

To recap, the ECU doesn't store the Uprev tune and the stock tune, it's one or the other. Replacing/disconnecting the battery will not revert the ECU back to stock.

Weather is holding up down east. May get another week or two of driving in before the fire and theft only insurance goes into effect. GaleForce is correct about the tune. The tune is programmed into the ECU in the ROM as he stated. I would never use a trickle charger as they can over charge the battery. Use a 'smart' type charger like the Battery Tender which is recommended by Harley-Davidson.

put the winter tires on last week, so I am ready for montreal snow!

ZForce 11-05-2011 11:35 AM

Never store it, maybe because I live in Sunny California. Driving days per year based on weather = 365.

After driving one winter with the G, I would not want to do that again. Which tires did you get and which size?

zcar_dad 11-08-2011 02:50 PM

I am ready but as long as it is above 40 degrees, dry and no salt on the roads I will drive as long as I can.

MD-370z 11-08-2011 09:50 PM

it will be my third winter in the z in montreal. got square 245 winter tires, it works great! I park inside though.... so that helps never park on the street so dont have to dig my car out every morning
