Nismo 370 coming to Canada?!

Nissan 370Z NISMO Finally Headed to Canada | AutoGuide.com News

Pharmacist 12-18-2010 09:27 AM

that's pretty interesting. the nismo 350 was never offered here. i'm surprised they finally decided to bring the nismo 370 to us! I wonder how many cars we will get, and I also wonder what the price will be.

LMBmikeZ 12-18-2010 01:55 PM

nice find!

Nitrouz 12-18-2010 03:29 PM

yes. This was confirmed about a month ago. It should reach Canadian dealerships in March 2011 at about the same price range as the 40th anniversary.

Dizzy 12-18-2010 07:07 PM

Sigh.......now instead of looking at pictures of how they ruined the car....and the occassional reminder when I travel south, now I will be constantly reminded of how much I hate the Nismo.

nogoodname 12-18-2010 07:13 PM

The IPL's will be here in march '11 as well.

djpathfinder 12-18-2010 08:32 PM

I'm not a huge fan of the Nismo treatment, but the Nismo 370 is better than the Nismo 350...that was REALLY boy racer, IMO. I'd still get a "regular" 370 touring sport over a Nismo. Besides, despite the small HP and suspension tweaks, most of the automotive magazines showed that the Touring Sport models still outperformed the Nismo in their tests anyway.

nogoodname 12-18-2010 08:33 PM

That's not the point of the Nismo, it's for people who want a rare car.

djpathfinder 12-18-2010 08:40 PM

Performance is not the point of Nismo?

nogoodname 12-18-2010 08:46 PM

For the Nismo 370z, clearly not... look at it...lol.

djpathfinder 12-18-2010 09:00 PM

Yes, I've seen them in the states...and I wouldn't get one. Not for me. You considering trading up Nogoodname?

LMBmikeZ 12-18-2010 09:14 PM

I actually was so close to bringing an 09 up to Canada from the states, but then at the Toronto auto show I saw the 40th and had to have one.......

I'd agree with djpathfinder I think the 370 with touring and sport is the best bet, then you can just add a few bolt-ons.

Rare? I wouldn't call them rare, they are easily bought. If you mean unique (which is part of the attraction to the Z for me - not a lot of em around), then maybe. I think the Nismo is marketed to those like ground effect kits and spoilers.

I just like the lines on my Z an I really think the Nismo treatment destroyed the sexiness of the car.

To each their own.

QFT. You can see some shots of a 370 Nismo from our summer cruise to Port Dalhousie right here; it was great that the forum member from the US decided to join us, but I really wasn't digging his ride. (sorry!)

Da.Menace 12-20-2010 03:04 PM

Suffice to say: To each their own.

Absolutely - to each their own.

It will be interesting to see what kind of demand the car has here in Canada.

LMBmikeZ 12-24-2010 02:13 PM

I think the Nismo should do good, the 40th sold well! from what I am hearing they sold all them that were brought into Canada (only 120 I know) but that is better then what nissan USA can say, I hear they still have many 40th's available..... not to mention they have at least ten times the population as us.

Zat_Zuma 12-24-2010 02:46 PM

But you do have to realize that now the Nismo 370Z specific parts will now be available in Canada at your local dealer.

nogoodname 12-24-2010 03:18 PM

^^^ will be cheaper to buy from the states still.

So the Nismo 370z and GTR black edition will be in the local auto show here.

Yes yours! Yellow was my first choice but only to find that its not available in 2010 models and I couldn't find a brand new one on 2009... so I end up getting blue :(

Off Topic: Was reading on my350z forum few days ago on the nismo 370z in canada thread became very hectic lol.... its like theres 10 pages on the thread but only 1 page of it is about the car itself.. others are just plain arguments -.-

z370z 12-26-2010 10:44 PM

Funny, the white was my first choice but after not being able to locate one with the works I went for the yellow and I'm more than happy with my choice now!

Dizzy 12-27-2010 08:33 PM

Interesting that 2011's on Nissan Canada's website shows no mention of a Nismo. I also see there is no colour changes this year.

Now that the NAV includes a backup camera in 2011, I wonder how easy it will be to get that installed at the dealer.

djpathfinder 12-27-2010 09:46 PM

They may not have completely updated their website yet. I remember they didn't have any info (website) on the 40th Anniv in early March when I was looking. They have a new shade of grey, gun metallic, for 2011. I thought black cherry was just a one year colour for 2010, but I guess not.

If you're interested in a back up cam, check out this thread
http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/2...ew-camera.html
and PM bdl99 for 2010 configuration. The group buy happened about a month ago but there's a few people still getting in on this late. This is plug and play and virtually OEM-like.

Dealer would rip you off...do it yourself or have a friend help.

I can also vouch for the group buy! I was in on that! I would go that route as well seems very straight forward and as close to plug and play as you will get!

Actually, I would say a rare car is a red one. I still haven't seen one. They didn't make a lot of yellow ones, but I see them around. For some reason, I still haven't seen a red 370.

LMBmikeZ 12-29-2010 09:44 PM

djpathfinder - I agree I find it amusing that Nissan can just publish certain things about production but then do something completely different, like the black cherry colour! Also with our 40th's I found out that our Canadian 40th's don't even count in the "1000 40th's produced!" its a crock! there's 1000 in the USA, 370 in Europe, and 120 in Canada! o well in the middle east you can order 40 quartz as a stock colour package for the 2011's:shakes head:

DIZZY - I have seen one in the KW area a roadster and it is FUGLY IMO it is red with wine top.....I am not a fan of the wine top at all. But your right there's not many red ones.

^ side note there is a 2010 white roadster for sale in the KW area....... that was rare, I had really only seen your white one before........and one heading the opposite way on the highway lol...

Not entirely correct.. I saw one still available at Markham Nissan a week or 2 ago.

LMBmikeZ 01-03-2011 07:34 PM

umm I wonder how many KM are on it....?

I know the guys around my area(greg vann nissan) that didn't want to sell to me have one with over 4-5000 kms on it. They try to sell it every once and a while. It has had the owner driving it after about 3-4 months of sitting on the lot in the spring. I have I love-hate relationship with the dealership, as in we love to hate each other!

Anyway ya there are probably a few around that are used or "demo". Just gotta look for those interested..... I am was so happy getting mine with next to no kms on it! BRAND F*CKING NEW!!!!18kms!!

Dizzy 01-03-2011 10:54 PM

When I was in the market for a new car last year, I was really thinking Bmer. I just love the 3 series coupe. But, the reason I didn't buy it - they have to be the most common car on the road, and I hate to be one of the pack. So, I looked for something a little more unique.

Red, yellow, 40th....and now Nismo. One thing I do know, there aren't a lot of 370's around.....they turn heads.....and I'm very happy with my unique car!

Do you mean village nissan? It is a demo with about 11000 km on it, thats what the salesman said.

LMBmikeZ 01-04-2011 09:35 PM

ouch 11000! That's high, more then me anyway and I drove it every day (DD:driving:) in the summer, until nov 1.

Hopefully the buyer gets a decent deal for that much of a "demo"........

IMO a car that's been demoed=demolished:eekdance:

Yes yes thats the one. lol

Funny thing is, I saw that car before PDI was completed on it, and its still not sold. that was... since April.

I would've taken it if the sales were more pleasing and not acting like cocks.

Sad thing is to many dealerships are this way:shakes head:.......

Side note I saw that 40th on auto trader, I was just looking to see who's trying to get rid of the Z over the winter (& I got a buddy interested in one:tup:). Funny thing is that dealership is asking way to much!! I only paid $1500 more for mine BRAND NEW! 18kms........not to mention that they also currently have 1000km more on the odometer! So basically if anyone buys it, YOUR GETTING RIPPED OFF!!!! They are asking way way to much! IMO:stirthepot:.....

Used 2010 NISSAN 370Z for Sale In MARKHAM, ON - 3522613 - autoTRADER.ca

Also found another 40th for sale in Ontario! But only 8000kms! and it is a little cheaper....few thousand any way... and its AT
Used 2010 NISSAN 370Z for Sale In LONDON, ON - 3274390 - autoTRADER.ca

And yet another one!! Way way less KMS says only 2500kms! and the cheapest one!! with AT.... they are letting it go for the cheapest yet but its also not a nissan dealership lol!

Way too many people getting rid of their 370 lately... Is the car really that bad?
Impractical, I understand that, but then one should have considered it before buying

It's not the car that's bad but bad decisions in buying a sports car. The Z is not a mule to do the daily chores of getting to work and the groceries. It can be used for that but it wasn't designed for that. First time buyers or those that can't afford a second vehicle realize the Z is not so fun when in rush hour or driving in the snow. The happiest Z owners are likely the ones that own a second or third (mule) vehicle. I do very little spirited driving and I don't track the car either. I have zero issues with the Z. It's a great vehicle and very reliable. My 2 cents.

Hey now. I use the Z as a mule to get to work, and also to buy groceries (not a lot of groceries of course). I'm a first time buyer with no other vehicle. True, the Z sucks in rush hour but I usually avoid driving during these times. I drove the Z on the snow yesterday, and yes it was fun :happydance: I do LOTS of spirited driving and track the car regularly.

You always see lots of semi new cars on the used car market. It happens all the time. Some people don't like what they bought. Some people cannot afford the financial burden. Some like to try out new cars and basically change cars every couple of years or so. Some move out and travel abroad. Some require more practicality out of their car. Some acquire more wealth and decide to upgrade to something more upscale. Many reasons why people switch cars. It's nothing specific to the Z.
