They had three as of Wednesday night and I assumed yours was in dealer prep. There were two on the front lot, one of each! The third was not in sight as I said. I hope you enjoy it! Make sure you get the lit door sills for it though!!!!

mmmmm 03-19-2010 07:22 PM

I pick mine up 40th anv. edition on Monday March 22

I got a call from my dealer, my Z arrive on Thurs. going in for window tinting, fully loaded, nav and all, 48,900 before tax,

djpathfinder 03-19-2010 08:23 PM

Congrats! I drove mine from the dealership straight to the shop that's doing my tints and clearbra...a whole 11 km, going really slow and keeping my distance so I wouldn't get any rock chips. Sucks I won't get to see or drive it till Mon or Tues, when the shop is done with it. Short term sacrifice to keep her looking pristine. Crappy iPhone pics to follow...

Pharmacist 03-19-2010 10:50 PM

wow! 49 grands before tax! that's a pretty hefty price increase for a paintjob, red stitching, and a bunch of badges and nameplates. that's only a tiny bit less than what i paid for my car including 13% tax! also how come there is no mention of the anniversary edition anywhere on nissan website?

djpathfinder 03-19-2010 11:22 PM

Here are some pics with my phone...not the best quality.

Looks sharp!

WoZZer 03-20-2010 08:00 AM

Sherwood told me they were getting 7 of these sharp looking cars. Looks very nice. Congrats!

40th anniversary edition compare to regular off the lot

I went to Nissan.ca to see what the diff would be if I order a non 40th anniversary edition, so I loaded this one up also with all that I could and the price was higher, it came in at $50,133 before tax, my 40th ann came in at $49.422.00 ($1,000) discount or it would have been $49,998.00
I placed my order in Oct. so my car was part of the Jan. 11 production, if anyone did not get there car yet, the last production run was in Feb. so expect you new Z 3rd week of April.
Anyways, total cost with tax came to $61,161
I got window tint, and the Z is Metallic paint.

djpathfinder 03-20-2010 04:50 PM

The price will increase very quickly if you go with dealer offered additions (paint sealant, tint, extended warranty, etc). Plus don't forget, in Ontario, they also pay provincial tax (8%??)...ouch!

djpathfinder 03-20-2010 05:08 PM

Also, the 40th anniv comes with Nav (i.e. fully loaded) in Canada, which adds $2500 over yours. I could have done without that package frankly. I would have been happy with a $500 Garmin portable unit.

Pharmacist 03-20-2010 05:43 PM

how come i can't find any mention of the anniv ed on the nissan website? how are buyers supposed to know it even exists?

djpathfinder 03-20-2010 06:23 PM

For official Infiniti and Nissan news and press releases, I go to
Nissan/Infiniti News Room

Good source of info and pictures.

wheee! 03-20-2010 06:26 PM

The 40th is a nice car, but it is not for everybody. I am glad I stuck to my Black Rose model. To each their own!

Nissan 40th edition

You are correct, they only way I knew about it was searching the net and in the paper in the auto section, they had a full page on it, so I called me dealer, he had no idea what I was talking about. In fact he told me he talked to other dealers and the same thing, I think cause Canada only got 80 of them they went out to the dealers with the highest sales. In total I think only 3,000 have been made, I have to go back an check but 80 in Can, 380 in the US and in all of Europe 270 or so. I might be off by 25 in total but those are about how many in total they made. I was told only two production runs, on was on Jan 11th, is when mine was made and I think all that got them now came from that production run, the 2nd and last production run is Feb.

When I told my dealer about this car he had to call his contacts at Nissan Canada in Toronto and they only heard that a special edition was in the "plans" but he would pull one aside for me.

In Ontario we have a Province tax of 7% and GT of 5% then add in Ext. warranty, freight, air tax, protection plan etc. it adds ups. I did not get the rust protection for the underbody put on, I find that messy so like my Jeep I got that device you have connected to the battery that is ECC rust module

complete roadside assistance plus 4 FREE oil changes which on the 370Z is about $94 each.

Ya if I got just a reg. Z and went out to upgrade on my own might have saved me a few $$ but for me it's worth it, turn key, get all that I want, and if anything goes wrong I bring it to one place and no finger pointing.

I looked at the low model Cayman Porsche and your getting nothing at a base price, time you load her up, looking at low 90, for what your getting with the Z is compared to a fully loaded Porsche at about 40k less.

Plus this is a collector item in time and will hold it's value.

mmmmm 03-21-2010 09:06 AM

40th anv edition

I think I made an error, not 3,000 cars made I think in total they made under 800 cars world wide for this special edition. The car also comes with a certification and cover for the Z.

The wife and I like the black rose color. It's also unique and reminds me of the brickyard colour they had for the 2003 350z.

Mmmm, also they are making only 1000 units according to everything I've read, and Canada is getting 88 of them.

The thing is, if I were a salesman I would make it a point to know the products that I'm selling and make sure I know about it more than the customer. Previously and at another dealership one salesman told me the 370z had 300HP and instead of having "Brembo" written on the brakes they went with "Nissan" in 2010. When I hear such blatantly erroneous info I call them out on it. I see that all the time. If the consumer can findout all this info so easily online, the seller should make better efforts to disseminate the same to their staff and their staff should make a better effort to learn their product info more thoroughly...sorry, enough of my ranting. :-)

Nice to have a unique car. Mine will always be the first Black Rose in coupe style sold in Canada!

Really? Cool. They told me mine was the first one they sold and the first one in all of Edmonton. Cool too if it was true. :icon17:

and mine is apparently the only silver on persimmon in canada! that's what the dealer told me... apparently, canada wasn't supposed to get my color combo... except mine.

btw.. nice car!! i should have waited a year!

Pharmacist 03-21-2010 10:30 AM

I still believe they should have done what other car makers do and made it a bit more unique, like giving it some unique performance upgrades. Or at least give it the same upgrades the Nismo Z gets. As it is, the only difference between the anniv and touring is just different coloring, and a plastic name tag

I think the Black Rose is one of the best colour for the Z, I wish the 40th annv. came in Black Rose, I think it shows off the curves of this car the best.

40th year annv, or any other year, Z are all one of the best looking sports cars out there.

Finally got her home with tint and clear bra. Here are some more crappy iPhone pics. Will need to do a proper photo shoot when the weather is nicer and I can get her all cleaned up.

Did you get the rocker panels done too? I'm glad I did!

edconline 03-23-2010 11:42 PM

Loving the Anniversary Edition colour scheme, that's definately my second favourite colour! Where did you get the clear bra done/how much if you don't mind my asking. Any Edmonton owners actually, it seems like if this was done improperly by someone it would look really bad/obvious, I don't wanna wait too long though or it's gonna get chipped before it goes on. Now if only the weather would cooperate!

I was originally looking at red or white, but as soon as we saw the 40th, that was it. Love the red accents all over the place too. I got both done at Aero Car Parts (7304 - 50 Street, 780-440-6017). Tell Rick that Adelbert sent you. He'll take care of you. The place is small but the staff there really know what they're doing. I've dealt with these guys for years. There was a write-up on them in the Journal 2 fridays ago. They also do bumper and wheel repairs too. The 3M clear bra (18" hood and full wrap around bumper) cost $510 and the 5 window 35% tint (SolarGard) cost $289.

Yeah, you don't want to wait too long especially since your car is black. How long have you had it?

Hang in there...just a short while longer. I lucked out walking into the right place at the right time...that usually never happens to me.

edconline 03-24-2010 08:26 AM

Djpathfinder - thanks for the info! I've only had the car 2.5 week and I haven't really been driving it due to the weather and my being away for a bit. Definately something to do before the real driving begins though. That price looks fair, I wonder how much the rocker panels would add? Probably take a look at their tint too, planning on going darker than 35 all around, probably 17. What did you/they do about the issue a lot of members here have had with their tint peeling in the window corner due to the window moving when the door opens/closes? I wasn't too sure how well the tint would cure in this weather either. Looks like this weekend is bringing Z driving weather :D

You can console yourself in the knowledge that in the UK/Europe, we wont get Quartz ones until roughly July! I ordered mine about 1 week after the official announcement so should be well up the list and current delivery is showing as 6th July :shakes head:

I wasn't aware of the peeling issue. If there's any problem, they'll fix it up. SolarGard comes with a 5 year warantee too.

I love mine, got the whole nine yards for $50,500. Went in to buy rims for my 350Z, walked out with the 40th anniversary. Ha ha ha ha

Cool...congrats! Welcome to the forum. So where did you pick it up?

370zara 05-30-2010 11:18 PM

My girlfriend bought it for me at ericksen nissan. Where did you get yours? I would love to hear your exhaust sometime.

djpathfinder 05-30-2010 11:26 PM

I got mine at Sherwood. Yeah, definitely. The exhaust sounds deeper and throatier now. Hopefully we get some nicer weather soon and can organize a meet.
