For any of you who doubt the cold up here.... the temperature at my home in the country in Alberta is minus 40 degrees (8:00pm local on Saturday night). This is where the fahrenheit and celcius scales meet. It is supposed to get even colder tonight. I expect we will get to minus 45 here. Further north in Alberta, it is forcasted to reach minus 50.

All sane 370 owners should now be babying their rides indoors.

Snakes709 12-12-2009 09:54 PM

lol, its like -35* right now and i just finished tinting my tail lights, gotta re-do them tomorrow, went way to dark...lol.

Solution: A GT-R! It's got all-wheel drive! Problem: $$$. Down it's $130,000!!!

The good troll.

Snakes709 12-13-2009 01:09 PM

So 370z can come to this GTG thing? As for the GT-R...my gf read that it beat the 370z in winter performance, haha

no the $$ is not the issue it is the ground clearance. :shakes head:

gtr doesnt seem as bad as the 370z for ground clearence. My front bumper or that stupid skirt under it always scrapes when i come into a parking lot, even worse for snow.

So me and the girlfriend were going to head out for a drive today. When i went outside the temp was -37*...Unfortunely i wasnt able to plug the car in last night since my hood froze shut. So i went to start the car, it tried to crank over but wouldnt. Gave it a second and tried a second time, same thing, wouldnt crank over so i gave it abit of gas and it started...sounded like a cross between a tank and a engine trying to start underwater. So i guess the block heater does come in handy, big time.

FricFrac 12-13-2009 03:19 PM

What - you're telling me the boys in Alberta can't jack up a GT-R? I thought they were the firrst ones to put in lift kits on Model A Fords as they were coming off the factory line....

Hey we're not all at -37C here in Canada - its +3 (37F) here today....

Snakes709 12-13-2009 03:47 PM

its getting up to -2*C on Wed, i cant wait...lol

Well, it's now official. The Edmonton area had the coldest temperature recorded in North America last night. At the airport, the low temperature was minus 46.1 degrees celcius with a wind chill temperature of minus 58 degrees celcius.

How's that for bone-chilling cold?

Man, I'm sooo envious when I see the massive get together at Fontana Nissan in Cal..
I was tempted to take the week off, push through the snow and head down there.
What an awesome dealership. Girls, fast cars, burgers, sun tan lotion.
How 'bout a Canadian version. Bring your anti-freeze, chains, an' tow ropes. Block plug ins for everyone, and free toques for the first ten cars to survive the trip.

Crazy - remind me again why you live out there?

shumby 12-14-2009 02:40 AM

the women are hot out here and the colder it is outside the more "fun" you have keeping "warm" inside.

A walk in the north end of Halifax and certain other neighbourhoods will require the donning of a kevlar vest to save your *** from stray bullets! Ten homicides this year for such a small city. Ridiculous.
