Well it was never my intention to store my Z for the winter. But i leave friday for a 1 month field ex. and then i got pretty much all of December off and then off to the Olympics from Jan 14ish to March 26th. So my Z will be going in storage and holy ****...i called my insurence company...before i say what im paying for a premium please dont start all this bs about "omg you are getting raped" I'm 23 years old, 2 accidents, 2 speeding tickets (one ticket was 10 over the limit the other was 40 over) and of course i own the Z and only been driving for 2-3 years...so not a really good record.
Anyways im currently paying $5300 a year for full coverage. Talked to my insurence company to see if i could drop it down to PLPD...didnt want parking insurence because i might have to drive it during the X-MAS break we get. So after going through Bank of Nova Scotia to get there permission to drop the insurence it dropped from 5300 a year to 1300 a year....$4000 dropped...god damn!. I was thinking about doing some mods but im just going to leave it. Doing some work to my ZX6R and might possibly get a turbo system fab'ed up. |

I think it was bias ply tires that flat spotted. Modern cars have radials I have always parked all of my sports cars for winter and have never had an issue with flat spotting nor have I heard of any one else that parks the car for winter having flat spots. I put some fuel stabalizer in a full tank of gas and start the car and let it warm up for 10-15min every couple weeks and i have never had issues that related to storage. |

I'm still driving the Z a few times each week. The weather here in Halifax is holding up nice. Sunny and 10C today and a high of 12C predicted for tomorrow. When the weather does get ugly, and it no doubt will, the Z will only come out of the garage on dry days regardless of the temperature outside. Hey, that's what the heated seats were meant for right???

On another note. Just passed 9000km on my Z and its going into the dealership for its first set of issues. My climate controls go crazy every once in a while. Seems like it does it when i go through a car wash, thinking its because its so cold outside then the temp inside makes the sensors go nuts. What happends is all the lights on the climate controls go out, it goes full blast heat/fan to the windshield. Cant change it, cant turn it off cant do anything. Happend 2 times so far. Thats the first issue, second issue is the driver side front speaker is crackling so im going to get them to check everything out and replace it tomorrow. |
The snaps continue! W-i-l-d blizzards, man! And, to think that I've NEVER seen snow...
