Who Stores their Z over the Winter

Shut her down from Oct to April. Those tires would be disasters in the winter..lol

cooltoy 01-27-2015 12:27 PM

I drive until the city puts gravel on the roads, and pull her out again right after they sweep it all off. Don't want any chips or windshield damage.

I live in Winnipeg and own a 370z roadster so it's most definitely parked!

I now inherited my wife's car an 05 lancer (yes the older much uglier body style )

She got our new SUV after a our baby and I sold the beater and took her car. Once her SUV is paid for I am getting a newer much nicer sedan :excited: only 2 more years if no extra payments are made but why would I that's Z mod money :icon17:

Owned a 1999 Infiniti qx two years ago. Great vehicle. Bought it to go to work while my wife was on maternity leave. Sold it when she went back to work. I kind of miss it.

Definitely store the Z during the winter. Usually from November till April unfortunately... I drive an 04 Jeep Wrangler though in the winter - I absolutely love that too. It's always the best feeling pulling out the Z and getting all that power and handling back. It's like getting a new car every 6 months.

6MT 02-08-2015 08:25 PM

I stored my Z when I owned it. I had to back it out of my garage and turn it around to do some work on it. I really had trouble getting it back up the driveway on the snow.

cooltoy 02-14-2015 04:56 PM

89. That has to be just about every Z sold in Canada. :rofl2:

I had the exact same problem today!!!!! LOL

diz330 02-15-2015 05:57 PM

Mine got stuck at the bottom of the driveway yesterday with summer tires on:rofl2: the main roads were dry so i thought i'd take it to the gym. Unfortunately it took me over an hour to get help and get it back up the driveway. never again lol the summer tires were totally useless with just an inch of snow and slight inclined driveway

Winter

We've been lucking out this year. No snow in my part of town at all this year and I've only dragged the umbrella along maybe twice. It had to be 15 C today and we've had a bunch of days much the same. Everything is starting to bloom.
Z will be out in 9 days and counting. Even went out and peeked under the cover today. Yahoo.

saw a red 370z on the way home yesterday... looked so odd covered in salt and skinny tires.

hoping to start rolling it out in a month... *prays*

diz330 02-22-2015 05:46 PM

Last winter was a long one after I just bought a kawasaki ninja in September waiting to ride it all winter, and now this one has been long as well after buying my Z in October(still has insurance on it I drive it when it's been dry for a few days and most of november) but it still will be nice to see it out on a beauty spring day.

2003 Accord coupe in the winter. Bought it in Jan 2009 when I was an intern and it has served me well. :)

That's close to where I am, 46,100km on her (2010). I remember breaking 40k last summer and thinking 'I can't believe it has so many KM now!' Then I see cars like 90ST's though and some buddies with G's that have 2xx xxx and it makes me feel good, just knowing I can expect to enjoy mine for years and years to come :driving:

mishuko 03-02-2015 06:47 AM

so the weather said snow/ice rain/ slush/ blahh forecasted for the next few days... saddends me that end of march seems like a bit of a push to bring her out.

i guess i'm a bit antsy because my stillen cbe is sitting in the basement begging to make some noise lol...

Mhaddy 03-19-2015 06:20 AM

Reminds me of when I had my bike. I owned it for 5 years and put 15000 kms on it. My buddy owned his for 2 years and put 30000kms on it. Bottom line, he got a lot more money's worth, seat time and enjoyment then I did out of the bike.

Same holds true for our cars.

Amuse370z 03-19-2015 03:03 PM

For those that stored it for the winter, are you guys changing the oil as soon as possible not that the weather is nice again?
