Update:

I took the car home from the shop, scary drive with the alignment the way it was. I tore into the suspension pulling parts off to see if there was anything broken that they missed to keep from buying an all new assembly. While doing this I noticed that my lower control arm/spring seat was cracked, buckled, and bowed effectively making the part shorter which is what was pushing the tow out so bad. I sourced a replacement for 75 bucks on ebay and put it in today. I still need an alignment but the wheel is sitting straight and I think that was the entire problem. In the mechanics defense you would have had to compare the bent arm with a straight one to even see a difference (other than a hairline Crack down the spring seat). When the broken one was mounted on the car it looked fine but once removed it was clearly off. It's amazing what a little diy can do for you.
