Sexy.

:yum:
Can I trade you my older AP's for these!
Ok, those are sexy as hell. But for $3k+ each front and rear, how much better are they?

http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0a263c97.jpg In Formula 1 the calipers stayed below 150 degrees C in most race conditions. In AP's extremely harsh testing which you can read about on the website in the first post. The AP Radi-CAL's did not exceed the 180 degree C mark. 210 degree C level is the threshold for caliper and system failure. http://apradical.stillen.com/img/tech.jpg |
Is that compared to the old model kit you offer?
Yes
Wow, too poor to upgrade to these but they seem to be very impressive
I was wondering when you guys were going to post these. They look great. One day. But still loving my AP 6 piston.
Some additional pictures for you guys :)

Hmmm, Now I just need $7K
I just talked to Shawn about these! We are now carrying this line in our parts catalog!
So whats the Pad selection like?
Does it fit 18' inch wheels ?
Thanks ! |
The info I got a while back was no, these require 19's.
Thanks, I thought as much! Not easy to find 6 pot caliper brake with 370mm disc fitting 18' !

Off topic a little. But if you have the Standerd AP BBK 6 piston and need Carotech pads the P# for the pads are CPCT7040. Doesn't matter what compound.

We prefer endless pads, but many other companies like hawk, ferodo, pagid and more will make pads for them. |

These look awesome. Kinda wish they stepped up the front rotors to 15"
These barely fit in 19's as is. 15 inch rotors would have been insane. They already stop the car like beast.
No need for larger rotors if we don't need more heat capacity after brake cooling. :)
My Standerd AP 6 piston BBK is perfect and only sees track time. 8 track days and the rotors look great.
Yeah I'm an AP convert as well, I've been really happy with the existing BBK from AP/Stillen for 18" wheels. I'm just about done with my first set of front rings (new ones are sitting here waiting, but I think I can squeeze in one more weekend before I switch). They've been on since last April, so something in the ballpark of 15-20 trackdays on those front rings (I'd have to go look it up to know for sure).
I love my AP's but these new ones are way outside of my budget. I got mine from forum member and other then the paint being faded they have been great. Had a caliper stick not to long ago but the pads were really dusty and I was DD'ing them

Got mine done this month. A lot of work for a nice and professional job.
Front AP Radical with Ferrodo DS2500 pads . Rotor dimensions : 370 mm x 36 mm. Stillen billet aluminum hat and billet aluminum bracket. Front brake lines : Modified OEM with factory Nismo stiff rubber lines Rear OEM Akebono with RacingBrake 2 piece rotors and Hawk Street 5.0 pads. Rotor dimensions : 350 mm x 23 mm. Rear brake lines : OEM Nismo stiff rubber lines. I only posted photos for the front since I had no chance to take the rear photos yet. Driving impression and proper bedding: By the way, I have to give Stillen 2 thumbs up for designing such a superior adapter bracket and hat. Really, even the most expensive BBK can be a piece of junk if these 2 components are not designed properly. Also, these brakes are quiet, so quiet that it somehow scares me of how could this be. I expect some noise at least but so far..... Absolutely no noise. Just like OEM....... Still don't know why. 1)) First, don't be alarmed when you started driving a brand new set of performance brakes. There were hardly any grabs and so proper bedding is GRAVELY IMPORTANT in order to achieve the correct and even pads deposit and to avoid hot spots which can lead to premature rotor warping or even cracks later on when subjecting them to severe use 2)) At about 100 miles with light to medium hard bedding on them and the bites just keep getting better and better. By now I can see an beautiful bluish even deposit on all 4 discs 3)) 200 miles now. Harder braking and it keeps on getting better. Modulation is EXCELLENT and superior to Akebono front. VERY nice and VERY stiff pedal. I can guarantee that these stiff Nismo lines are no less stiff than the Goodridge lines and they give me a much more piece of mind when it comes to reliability and quality. I will post the end result when I subject them to real hard braking later on. See all photos below . Enjoy and ask if you have questions: http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...ps88ustpn4.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psmanumh6d.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psjka0usk6.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psycnadtzb.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psrggqiur9.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...pscmjmgodl.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psvmjiwek4.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psv309d9fm.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...psctdjefwh.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1vieabqv.jpg http://i1370.photobucket.com/albums/...pswhdkhf92.jpg |
