Tein basic coil over or swift/koni

Does anyone have feedback on which one of these is the better upgrade.

I don't know of anyone on here that runs koni, but I do know fair bit about them. Lots of guys use them on dedicated track cars. Ridden in a few cars with them an the progression of dampening is quite noticeable from the first click to the last. If ground control made a sleeve that mated to the koni's for the 370z I would be all over it....

I would not personally buy Tein's lower end products. Their monoflex series is quite good and made in Japan, but that is more in the 3K+ range. Their lower end products are Chinese made and known to leak after a while. You get what you pay for.

Koni sports are good, but mounting them and getting the correct hardware is a bit of a challenge. If you want to pay for it, Koni will even add a compression adjuster(it's about 300 bucks extra and customize the valving. You will also hear no complaints about swift spec-r's.

I did not know custom valving was needed. I'm not sure how soon I will upgrade but please pm me the info.

You don't need custom valving if you buy the OTS swifts and konis. I am referring to if you want to get into dedicated track rat rates, ie: 15k and up.

The nice thing about Koni is that service is done here in the USA IIRC and you tell them what rates you are going to jump up to and then they will revalve them. Much cheaper than having to buy another whole set of shocks tp go with new high spring rate springs.

Also IIRC the reason why I haven't seen anyone on here really run the Konis is that they require you to scavenge the spring perch off your factory shock since they don't come with them. More than likely the dame reason why Ground control hasn't made a sleeved spring and collar setup for the 370z.
